70-yr-old cabby whacked Yio Cu Kang MP

74 years old and still driving taxi is a social sickness, and so is the old woman i see at the bus stop trash bin everyday, who collects garbage for a living. and the old man i see who sleeps in the park everyday with his only belongings; a canvas bag as his pillow. a 74 yo man wanting to punch a civil servant is a social sickness too.
what does it tell us? you care to think the bigger picture? the real reason, the cause of this sickness? -

I had to admit i salute him , cos he has the guts and courage to ham tam a MP , although being 74 , he must have his greivances not heard by anyone .
I don't even dare touch anybody , and we are talking about ham-taming a person , and a MP .....

Anyway , doesn't matter how people rate me , my conscience clear as water , taxi drivers sometimes just ...... u know ? Being a target board by many people , for the wrong reason .

Just saw the article on why he was sacked , now i know why ..... he lost his cool la , he shouldn't lost his cool over some plastic bags that leaked water onto his cab . It's part and parcel of a morning shift drivers .
Again ..... bizarre for me , he can always drive taxi from another company , he was sacked by Comfort from driving Comfort's taxi , he can still be allowed to drive taxi from another operator . Unless LTA revoked also his Taxi Vocational License , which so far i read , non of the case .
he also under pressure la , son dead because of cancer , and he has to continue working to cover for the family expenses .....
he don't deserve to be label a "thug" la , he's just human , and a ordinary laymen whom , lost control over a moment of rage .
It can happen to anyone . -

Although I despised the Millionaire Poodles that wayang only every 4 years, there is no reason for the Old Man to whack the dog cos he is unable to help.
The Sg pple is wasted as they have called for a ambulance to take care of the dog.
At least the old man is man enough to apologise for his action.
Maybe the reporter that reported the case in the evening paper is now jobless and waiting in the queue to whack another dog. -

Bravo for his courage for confronting , not only putting his words across ..... but not action .
Many cabbies has been complaining too much , but no action , now we see action , unprecedented by a cabby .
Most cabby would say he's not right , but some will still salute him for his courage , where no other cabby dare .

When i post this thread , i felt that this cabby " si bay eh sai " , very good ( in terms of his courage in confronting what he stands for ).
Nothing else .
I had no other thoughts after that , not that i am proud of what he did to that MP .

MP Seng Han Thong wants closure to assault episode
Mr Seng Han Thong, the Member of Parliament who was attacked by his Yio Chu Kang constituent, has said he wants to close the episode and move on.
It was Mr Seng's first public comments on the assault which took place last Thursday.
He was speaking just after he returned from his business trip in Shanghai.
The punching incident took place at about 9.30pm on 20 July at a Meet-the-People session at the PAP's Yio Chu Kang branch office.
74-year-old Koo Tong Huat had asked to see his MP in private.
The former Comfort taxi driver had wanted Mr Seng to help him reinstate his taxi licence which was revoked four years ago.
Investigations from Koo's former employer showed that Koo had written a threatening letter to a female passenger after she complained about him.
Koo was believed to have been upset that his MP failed to help 'clear his name' when in fact Mr Seng did file an appeal with ComfortDelgro.
ComfortDelgro had replied to Mr Seng and Koo to say that it stands by its investigation report four years ago.
But before Mr Seng could explain, Koo punched him in the face.
Two days after the incident, Koo reportedly wrote a letter of apology to Mr Seng but only to retract it the very next day.
Police are investigating the matter but Mr Seng said the assault would not affect the way he conducts his Meet-the-People sessions.
Mr Seng said: "I'll like to move on because I have many other pressing issues to deal with. I'll take this case as closed and I'll leave it to the Police to decide the next course of action."
But Mr Seng may adopt some suggestions from fellow MPs, such as having a male assistant sit in on such sessions. - CNA/ir -

That Cabby was so damm fortunate,Maybe his age play a part,I've once encountered an incident where i took this joker taxi(Just sold off both my Car & Bike)where he keeps on complaining about other road users/His personal lifes/Son in jail for rioting and out of sudden he shout at me for not saying which blk i'm staying although in the first place he did say he knew too well Geylang Serai area
I try to cool him down but instead he challenge me for a fight.I've lost my cool and and he was lucky as my Bro-In Law refrain me from doing so.In the end he chose not to accept any payments at all and just goes off,Weird Guy.That guy was in his 50s,Well built and driving Citycab Taxi.Driving inconsiderately and i nearly vomit inside when he deliberately swerves into an EVO sports car for unknown reason,Crazy fella!
