I always have this problem......
I take a taxi to my home, but i don have enuf money. So how do you think i shld go back home and take my money to give to the taxi driver without any commotions made??
Last time i did this and the taxi increased a bloody 50cents to my fare.
Even if the meter went on it wldnt have been 50cents more!!!
So guys, what do you think. Cabbys and xcabies plz reply cos represent the mindsets of the typical kind of taxi driver -

Taxi driver
1 If only different by few cents...just forget it
2 If few dollars, then request for credit cards or leave ic behine & wait for you with meter on(Time is money)
3 Or you can contact your family members to bring the cash to you.
Customer
1 If you know, you do not have enough money for a ride...don't take taxi driver for a ride.
2 If nearer to your place, try calling someone to bring the cash & wait for you*No need reach your place then call
3 Or when the meter about to reach the amount of money you have. stop & walk back.
4. Seriously..this should not be happening intentionally if you r a honest chap

such incidents happen too often.. cabbies also more or less knows the end result etc etc..
so best is to have guaranteed enough cash for the entire trip, call someone to bring cash at the destination, or stop the cabby when the meter says the amt u had, and walk..
my friend every told cabby to stop becos no more $$ (near buangkok) but the cabby told him never mind and drove him to the destination -- Sengkang Central...
that time was midnite charge 50%.. sure that cabby wont mind after getting such a long distance fare -

If want to save money due to waiting time , mind you , every 25 seconds 10cents , u know ? Call your family members to bring down money lor , so simple !
If no-one , late liao , don't want to bring down , then have to part with 50 cents liao lor , anyway bro , 50 cents no big deal la .
It's so common i don't take 10cents from customers , if like the fare is like $14.20 , i tell customer : " $14 can liao , 20cents don't make me a millionaire ! "

Okay , briefly ..... Peak Period surcharge : Mon-Fri 7.00am - 9.30am , Mon-Sat 5.00pm til 8pm !
