den after 10mins of waiting for bus 51 i got impatient and went out to hail a taxi...but den no taxi wanted to stop despite showing taxi on the top LED....wtf.....how come taxi like dat de?? -

Booking is for urgent purpose , if cabby take non-urgent street customers , urgent customers who call-and-book will never have a cab , eg , pregnant want to give birth liao , sick people , injured people ...... ROM late peoeple , going to the AIRPORT ...., just a few examples .
In time to come , when taxi alot , customers can wait along the road , when taxi in demand , taxi short supply , take a bus or MRT is a better option .
Supply & Demand philosophy .......
when supply overshot , demand less , cabby lan lan take on the street for a flag down of $2.50 .
when taxi supply less , demand overshot , cabby sure whack call one , extra $2.50 , hello , 100% extra profit la .
$2.50 can travelled quite long leh . -
during peak hours nowadays, got extra $2 , cabbies picked street customers , quite good profit , no need on-call .
KNN , sekali implement Saturday no peak hour surcharge , cabbies earning went down , so when got "on-call" time , cabbies sure whack call , to cover for those loses .
If no taxis , do a good time-management , take bus and MRT again , it's a better option . -

Comfort taxis in busy time , many bookings , so to flag for a taxi on the street during busy time , do flag for a non-comfort taxi , better chance they'll stop .

It's not a secret now ....... many taxi companies stuck with high volume of un-rented taxis at ytheir back yard , to name SMRT and ComfortDelgro stuck the most ...... ComfortDelgro stuck almost 4000 ? Think it's 4000 , SMRT is almost 1000 ........
They need taxi drivers now . That's why .

My advice , if u happened to be around below listed location , during maybe 11.00-1.00pm on Saturday & Sunday , take a bus or MRT , don't take a cab , why waste time , cabbies has more bookings to attend to at this time .

ComfortDelgro new fare structure really f*ck up the whole show , now it's retribution time for them .
Many of my counterpart tan-bo-jia , quit !
The figure is so great they will never anticipate , the new fare structure is good with full taxi strength , not 60% .
Also many tan-not-enought-jia , turn into OMO ( one man show from 6am - 8pm ) , then they knock-off at 8pm , cos after peak hour liao , they make enough , go home rest , then taxi became lesser after 8pm .
2ndly , when more drivers turn OMO , then more will go back at 8pm , then after 8pm , CBD and town area , again ..... lacking in taxis . That's why after 9pm to 11pm , in town , the problem still exist , worst the flag down @$2.50 , make cabby even want to take call , corporate customers still call like nobody business .
Only if the fare was adjusted to flag-down $3.00 , and peak hour charge remains $1 , they won't quit , strength remains , and customer still can get taxis , we earn enuf .
Both win-win , but not base of this structure .
But they chose to use this structure , and make us take bookings , cos they earn extra $0.70 for each bookings .
Most evening drivers earns the same , maybe morning shift drives suffer more . -

They ( ComfortDelgro ) thought most of us would stick with them , becasue they have strong booking system , if they adjust the fare-structure , thinking the demand of taxi would be the same , but no , the demand got less , our wages went down , bookings got less , quit is the easiest solution .
Most cabbies were so disgusted by ComfortDelgro's action , and quit for TransCab and Silver Arrow , and earn extra by pulling more Comfort's and Citycab drivers over ( recommending commission $1500 cash ) , thus causing Comfort to lose many drivers to rival companies .
They ( ComfortDelgro ) deserve it !
The last time i heard , Comfort alone nearly 4,000 taxi were stuck in the backyard , turning into scrap metal soon , rusty liao .
Who has the last laugh ? Nobody gain , as far as i am concern . -
So , many will ask : " Like that ComfortDelgo lose money lor ? "
Not really , they earn less , about $1 million a month in revenue .
So what action next from ComfortDelgro ?
See..... ComfortDegro belonged to Temasek Holdings , Temasek Holdings = PAP Garmen , LTA also = PAP Garmen ....
So now LTA stop issuing COEs to private taxi companies , stop them from issuing new taxis , thus stop them getting ComfortDelgro's taxi drivers over .
LTA & ComfortDelgro = Stinks like sh*t !
Both CDelgro and LTA are real-time S-u-c-k-e-r-s .

I am holding right now cos i have said before , i have a slight edge over some of my counterparts , cos i have a good booking-receiving equipment , most of my colleague doesn't .
i am not really affected , in terms of income , although less , not as much as some of my colleague .
