Was having late dinner at Lao Pa Sat the other day... When about to take cab and go home, was thinking about the TV programme which mentioned about how Taxi drivers put 'ON CALL' on their own cabs or hide in one corner to wait for midnight charge... IN FACT, we LONG KNEW that the hawker centre is infamous for that BEFORE the TV even talked about it... And how the TAXI COMPANIES mentioned they would 'take action'
against those taxi drivers...
And RIGHT... The SAME THING'S STILL HAPPENING... AFTER MONTHS... GREAT....
And the EVEN BETTER NEWS..?? WE TOOK BUSES HOME INSTEAD! SO MUCH FOR THE TAXI FARE! <

YESTERDAY. Was on a cab trying to get to Clementi Ave 6 from Clementi central... And got onto this cab where the driver doesn't know how to get there... I was like telling the others we should just get off the cab and fetch another one instead... BUT... Being a NICE guy he was... He actually allowed the cab to move away from the taxi stand.. PARKED and started to look into his directory...
After a while.. The driver told us he think he knows where it is... Comes to the cross-junction, where I pointed to him the place we're interested to go... He SAID OK. End up bring us along the road and EXIST to HIGHWAY.. He can actually tell us that that's the CORRECT ROUTE but he didn't know it's a HIGHWAY ahead... When I questioned him how come he didn't know when he was looking at the road directory.. His answer was "It's not stated on the ROAD DIRECTORY"
ONE BIG TURN.... BACK to the SAME JUNCTION... I POINTED to him AGAIN the PLACE we wanted to go... He WENT into the OPPOSITE DIRECTION and TOLD US... Let's see if we can find the place you're looking for at the OTHER side.... A whole stretch up... Turned into an unrelated area... STOPPED. LOOKED at DIRDCTORY AGAIN.....
THEN 3RD TIME... BACK at the SAME JUNCTION... Went to the LAST OPTION. Then brought us where we wanna go... $9plus close to $10 for such a short journey... Not to mention WASTE of our time...
When one of us asked him like that how much... He still have the GUTS to say "Pay by the METER". IDIOT. Then we looked at him and told him off because he OBVIOUSLY ANYHOW BROUGHT US AROUND. Then he said "Petrol expensive nowadays".
I think if he find living so difficult nowadays, the least he could have done is to be HONEST and secure his RICE BOWL. BE GLAD that we had a gentleman (not me) on the cab. If it was ME, I would have ALREADY CALLED HIS COMPANY TO COMPLAIN.... -

Once i was in a hurry and flagged a taxi around yio chu kang,told him to go to a place in nearby ang mo kio,he said ok ok,can.
Took me for a ride,turn here turn there in the end told me dun know how to go....even asked me to help him find the way there thru referring to a street directory.Yeah right,i am not going to stand this so i just opened the taxi door and walk out,ignoring him,made me waste my time,dun deserve to get any money -

haha your bugis case is a classic.
wonder how the uncle can think he can get away with saying dun know how to go to bugis when it is such a prominent place in singapore -

It's true, if he doesn't know the roads in S'pore fair enough, why drive taxi?
But they also "tan jiak", feel sorry for them. -

Reminds me of another time when I was late for an appointment.. The driver PURPOSELY took me in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION from where I wanted to go... In the end it's the usual "just take a look? I bring you where you want now lor...." I was VERY PISSED THEN as I was VERY LATE for my APPOINTMENT in the END... SOME DRIVERS are VERY OBVIOUSLY OUT to CHEAT YOU ONE...
WHEN YOU TELL THEM WRONG DIRECTION, THEY JUST CONTINUE DOWN THE ROAD AND BOCHUP YOU... OFTEN GIVING YOU THAT F*CKING SMILE, TELLING YOU TO 'RELAX' SOMEMORE....

Shenton Way , Robinson Road , Ceceil Street , Cross Street , Neil Road , Tanjong Pagar etc ..... Vivo City
Places where we Comfort drivers make our living , if u don't On Call .... someone else would !
This culture will never change , it's a culture now .
Who is those someone else ? Those who taxi fare can be reimburse by their company , they don't care , they just ON CALL . they don't pay , their company pay .
Cos they know , trying to save $4.00 for the company , and stand there for an hour , they no stupid . -
U want fast , pay $4.00 , or $2.50 for non-prime time , if u don't want to pay , then prepare to wait .
It's a culture that ComnfortDelgro created , who's fault ? -
So sorry to make some people really pissed off here . It's a culture that will never change if the flag down remains at $2.50 .
Trust me , if there an extra surcharge , like $2.00 extra from 9pm to 11pm , there'll be no such problem .
ComfortDelgro can't afford this change , they are protecting their Corporate customers . -
i told the driver to go mount elisabeth hospital.....
he asked me "got such hospital meh?! i don go outside singapore one!"
as i left immediately, he still got the cheek to ask me pay the $3 fare

I dun care one I dun spare this bloody irritating useless hopeless taxi drivers.If you take long road purposely I pay just the normal Fare.This is fair right?You not happy I just put the money there and walk away.You want to chase me I make sure I soot until you cannot ever touch a taxi ever again.I dun care.I will write to forum , call complain hotline and make sure you die.You will get banned from driving and I will still not pay you any extra dollars.

Taxi driver veri "chee chiam" one lei,jux like my father,he drive OMO(one man operating) for 11yrs le,sometimes when i see him struggle like shit from day to night,i realli pity him,but he has a family to feed,bo bian,if given a choice,he oso dunwan to be a taxi driver,he wanted to open his own business!!
