when i boarded the cab, i told the uncle go "wee-wo city"... coz i assume most taxi driver's english very the lauya one, n will pronounce vivocity as wee-wo city.
but then he said 'oh, vivocity ah?'. den i said yes. den i felt a bit paiseh.... -

When i went to the Global City 2006 training session just before the IMF meetings , we were told by our instructor that the Ministry want us to use proper English , at least try our best to use , not Singlish !

DO NOT ASSUME CABBIES AS INFERIOR!!!
However, the truth is: the cabbies' English standard varies very much, depending on his/her age.
have to admit that older ones may have different accents though (the hometown-like accents)
Anyway, passengers must inform cabbies their destinations in a proper accent, or else they may risk ending up at a wrong place.
The threadstarter........... must be lucky enough to avoid ending up at wrong place. -
