how much discount have u got from taxi fares? 10/20/30 cents? whats the biggest discount u gotten? -

I ever suan my customers who asked discount fro me , usually Chinese nationals , i said : " $0.40 eat liao will grow fat ? if can , take the $0.40 and go on grow fat !!! " -
Well, i think is alright to ask for discount since now taxi fare isn't that cheap too.

I will not ask for discount unless the driver offers me. Instead, say if the fare is $4.70 and I pay with $5 note, I will ask the driver to keep the change.

To me, asking cabbies for discounts is a shame.
If a passenger ask for discounts, that means he/she may be a person who cannot afford for transport fares.
And asking for discounts is unfair to cabbies anyway.
Think about their hard work. Some of them have to drive around everywhere for passengers --- and empty for a very long time still!
Don't forget that they may need more money from passengers to cover the fuel wasted on their hunt for passengers as well.
When they have managed to pick up a passenger, it is indeed a good, happy thing for cabbies. But if the passenger ask for discount, then the cabby may feel that his/her efforts of going around in empty cab for passengers may have wasted.
Furthermore, did the passengers ever think twice before asking for discounts?! I am not sure if there are any passengers who "spontaneously" and habitually ask for discounts.
So, try not to ask for discount from cabbies. -

To me, asking discounts from the cabbies, is a no-no. Why? Cuz the cabbies still need to earn $$$$$$$. Maybe this is a lame answer but...........................
we'll be ashamed if we ever asked the cabbies for discounts.\

I once took from braddell mrt to braddell view, ride was bout $4.. den uncle turn around tell me, "aiya this ride i give u free la, dun need pay".
Lol i was shocked!! den he smile smile say short distance no need.

I remember taking a comfort cab somewhere in 2005 from my school to home (was collecting something) and so the fare is $3.50 .... then the uncle turn around say : Ah boy u student i charge u 50c discount ...and so i only pay $3 instead of $3.50

I just casual talk with the cab driver till i reach, usally its the old ones who are friendly... then they say im a studient and not working so they gimme 50 cent or 1 dollar discount.
