er..i tot its a 2.0l V6 TDi for the Skoda?Originally posted by alleggerita:To me, nothing can beat the Skoda Superb..haha..it is also very big inside and the engine is powerful..a 2.5-litre V6 TDi..yes, refinement is a little behind the Merc E220 CDi, but nonetheless, it is a very nice limo taxi..lolx..![]()
Nah..it's a 2.5-litre V6 TDi..haha..it written clearly on the boot of the cab..if you see carefully next time, you will be able to see it..but anyways, Skoda DO offer a 2.0-litre TDi engine..but it's not a V6, it just a normal in-line 4-cylinder..but Silvercab chose the bigger capacity one..guess they had to buy a more powerful one since it will be their limo taxis..haha..cant expect to see a Toyota Crown winning the limo taxis at a traffic light..LOL..Originally posted by ceecookie:er..i tot its a 2.0l V6 TDi for the Skoda?
I sourced for information. Both 6 pots cylinder engines has around 160hp,with the Mercedes slightly more.So i would still go for the E220 CDi in terms of refinement.Originally posted by alleggerita:Nah..it's a 2.5-litre V6 TDi..haha..it written clearly on the boot of the cab..if you see carefully next time, you will be able to see it..but anyways, Skoda DO offer a 2.0-litre TDi engine..but it's not a V6, it just a normal in-line 4-cylinder..but Silvercab chose the bigger capacity one..guess they had to buy a more powerful one since it will be their limo taxis..haha..cant expect to see a Toyota Crown winning the limo taxis at a traffic light..LOL..
Both the models have turbocharger and intercooler i think. Skoda confirm got both, Mercs turbo confirm got, but intercooler not sure leis.... I prefer Skoda over Mercs, mainly because Mercs is abit cramp at the front. Skoda more spacious.Originally posted by ceecookie:I sourced for information. I think both the Skodas and Mercs have turbos plus intercoolers..Most new diesel engines now have both..especially the Euro IV compliant ones..Haha..Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Both the models have turbocharger and intercooler i think. Ofcuz rougher...V6 and inline 4 leh. Definitely V6 sounds rougher .Originally posted by alleggerita:I think both the Skodas and Mercs have turbos plus intercoolers..Most new diesel engines now have both..especially the Euro IV compliant ones..Haha..
But ceecookie, are you sure the E220 CDi is also a 6-cylinder engine? I thought it's a 4-cylinder in-line while the Skoda Superb 2.5-litre is a V6? I think only from the E270 CDi onwards then it's a V6. The E220 is still a 4-cylinder in-line..did you look for the wrong E-class model? Haha..u might have saw the spec for the E270 CDi, cuz the E270 CDi and the Skoda Superb 2.5-litre V6 are very close in terms of power output..I would still prefer my Superb though..haha..just like what Scania N113CRB luver said, more spacious than the Merc..engine and ride refinement is just a whisker behind the Merc, so i think that's okay..for normal people, they usually can't feel the difference..only a car nuts like me will think that the engine in the Skoda is slightly rougher than the Merc's diesel engine and the Merc's damper more sophisticated..lol..![]()
Erh then those SMRT's mercs also EuroIV? Cuz the E220 CDi that SMRT uses are bought quite awhile back, when EuroIV has not come into effect yet.Originally posted by alleggerita:Nah..the E220 CDi are definitely Euro IV because it's a law that the taxis the companys buy now must be Euro IV compliant..haha..the only reason for the black smoke: the reckless drivers..revving the hell out of the poor engine..wear and tear..that's why..haha..soon we'll see some Skodas spouting black smoke from the rear too..it's only a matter of time..haha..Oh, i took a ride in a Merc S320 before with air suspension, and that's what you call "magic carpet" ride..LOL..it's just amazing..don't even talk about the speed reducing strips, even bumps are like non-existent..of cuz not the big big "zebra-crossing-cum-bump" type..lol..![]()
Hmm okay...Thanks alot for correcting my fault ! Ya. I do appreciate it..Originally posted by SBS9818A:Scania N113CRB luver, I'd appreciate it (and so would the other forumnites) if you'd refrain from posting incorrect information. Most of the W211-model Mercedes-Benz E220CDi taxis registered are Euro IV compliant, with the exception of a few early units from CityCab which were registered in late 2004 - early 2005. SMRT's E220CDi taxis are all Euro IV, with the exception of the older W210-model (facelifted) E220CDi ones which were registered in 2001-2002.
All the old W124 and W210 MB E-class taxis have been scrapped by now.
Are the early-model W211s you referred to Euro II or Euro III?Originally posted by SBS9818A:Scania N113CRB luver, I'd appreciate it (and so would the other forumnites) if you'd refrain from posting incorrect information. Not sure, only know they are non-Euro IV.Originally posted by iveco:Are the early-model W211s you referred to Euro II or Euro III?
