WHY MUST I TAKE THE FIRST CAB IN LINE?

is it any difference in choosing your cab? you chose to flag a cab cuz you wan to reach your destination faster am i correct? by choosing needs time and maybe some unwanted trouble ...
anyways each cab has its own comfortability ...
comfort, its fast.
transit, many are out there ...
SMART, got tv.
silver cab, got more space for the legs and more expensive ...

Yes , the TS can exercise his/her rights , it's within his/her rights in choosing his/her prefer taxi company taxi to take , but it's not neccessary that particular taxi driver must comply or "mandatorily" take him/her .
LTA always advised us to tell the customer politely , why is he not taking her .
The TS can always complaint to the LTA about this issue , and i am so sure he/she will not get answers even from LTA .
The TS was a bit unlucky this time .
Most time , if the traffic situation allows , cabby would have drove off with the TS .
At that point , it could be that Premier cabby can anticipate he'll have some problems moving out his taxi , when he was sandwiched in between taxis . -

U can chose which company u prefer , but it's not "COMPULSORY" , nor "MANDATORY" , or "LAW ENFORCED" that this particular driver must take u at that situation .
He is only wrong if u are first in the Q , and he rejected u .
U can chose to wait for the first few taxis to clear , then u hop into the Silver Arrow via ur turn , nobody can stop u ..... ( sorry , did he mention Silver Arrow ? I assume is ) , if he failed to pick u , he's mandatory wrong . U complaint , he die !
In fact ..... there's only two regulated taxi slots at that taxi stand , any business done within 50m of the taxi stand ( outside of the 2 regulated taxi slot ) , is consider illegal for taxi drivers .
Yes , no doubt there's a taxi-Q ( mind u , it illegal outside the 2 regulated taxis slot ) , but if this Silver Arrow pick u , and got caught by LTA , he will be in trouble picking u !
So this Silver Arrow cabby is clever enough not to pick u .
He's helping himself from some trouble .
Many cabbies chosen , would have drove off with u , and land themself into LTA Book of Misconduct ( if got caught )
I am surprise u said u are a Part-time cabby ....
True cabby would never do that ....ie take that taxi between the Q !!
TS should know very well the mandatory rule of "50 metre from taxi stand regulation ".
That is : Taxi driver cannot pick customer 50 metres within the radius of a Regulated Taxi Stand
They have to proceed to the human Q instead .
Go take a look , every taxi stand there'll be this "Sign-Board" : This taxi stand for 2 taxis only
My explanation here will be the same from those from LTA .... 1.the taxi-stand 2 slots ruling ...... and 2. 50m from taxi stand ruling .
This 2 regulations is good enough to provide a good support from LTA or taxi drivers , in term of complain coming in . -

The LTA officer also said passenger can choose taxi but taxi drivers cannot choose passenger.
Reference to the Vocational License Point System (VLPS), which I was handed a copy by an LTA officer - among many things, here are the highlights with respect to my case.
Taxi drivers will be given 3 demerit points and fine $100 when they commit one of the following"
1 Hindering or obstructing other taxi drivers from picking up passengers
2 Refusing, without reasonable excuse, to hire out taxi or to convey passenger
3 Stopping, parking or stationing taxi at public stand when unable to let out taxi for hire
When Can A Vocational Licence Be Suspended Or Revoked?
A taxi driverÂ’s vocational licence will be suspended when he accumulates 6 or
more demerit points. The period of suspension ranges from 2 to 8 weeks as
follows:
Demerit Points Suspension Period
6 to 10 - 2 weeks
11 to 15 - 4 weeks
16 to 20 - 8 weeks
Under the VLPS, a taxi driver will have his licence suspended in increasing
duration before his licence is revoked. These suspensions should serve as
warnings for him to improve his conduct before the licence is revoked.
A taxi driverÂ’s vocational licence will be revoked if he accumulates 21 or
more demerit points within a period of 24 months.
