Man found dead after stealing taxi at Telok Blangah
SINGAPORE: A man was found dead about half an hour after stealing a taxi at Telok Blangah early Tuesday.
The owner of the taxi had stopped at Telok Blangah Crescent at 5am to buy newspapers. But soon after he got out of his cab, a Chinese man in his 30s dashed in and took the driver's seat.
He pointed a silver object at the taxi driver before speeding off.
The stolen taxi was later spotted at the junction of Telok Blangah Road and Henderson Road.
The man who stole the vehicle had crashed it into a wall and was found slumped in the driver's seat. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at 5.35am.
Police recovered some orange plastic pellets and broken parts of a silver plastic toy gun at the crime scene.
The man was thought to be mentally unstable. - CNA/ac
This taxi was critically damaged the steering & door was dropped , serve tht guy right for stealing taxis , but so sad tht this poor Skoda Superb is gonna be scrapped (SHC6717R) this taxi is only 11 mths old!
This dead fella siow one ..... mental problem .
A very high IQ siow fella ...... found a very powerful machine to bang against the wall .
Hmm, sounds like he hit the wall at 120km/h, too hard for the body frame to protect the person inside.
Too bad, fatal consequence for a criminal...
