I;m an easy going person, to me service as long as u do your job properly and speak in a netural tone, don't even have to be cheery, and understand that you are providing a service and i am paying for it, that is fine with me. But sometimes u meet those who act like u are the one working and they are the boss.
Yesterday i had a driver who i told him to bring me to point A first to pick up a friend which is also going to point B as well. As we were on the way to point A, i explained to him that we were in a rush to for time and if possible, to drive faster and reach the place before a specific time. Note, all i did was communicate that i was in a rush and i mentioned clearly if possible, drive faster and make it there before the time.
When reach point A, i called my friend as point A is big place and of course my friend had to find our cab as well. Note that my friend took only around a minute to come on the cab after we reach Point A. During this minute or so, the driver was very rude and commented in a hostile and sarcastic manner " why your friend? why is he not here yet" all this while i was on the phone talking to my friend to help locate as well, and " LIke that how to reach before 10pm Huh?" like as if it's matter to him. I could give a couple more example but i think u can get the point of the story already.
I was in a pretty good mood then so it didn't affect me like angry or upset even but it got me thinking, should we be paying rude taxi drivers like that? My friend was around so i didn't want to affect his mood as well as he was unaware of what was going on before he come on. Beside he is a visitor from another country so i didn't want him to see the ugly scene.
Next time if i encounter this situation, i might just do the following... for any rude taxi driver
Sorry, you can stop right now, we will both get out of the car, and i want to speak to your cab company and ask them for a representative to come down right cause your service is unacceptable and i refuse to pay. And if still cannot settle, we can call police in.
Think about it, do u think the guy will dare to continue his sh*tty attitudes when another customer comes on his cab again? For all of us who take public transport, i hope not.
I'm not sure if we have this right as consumers. so hopefully somebody reading this can share the info. Thanks for reading.
was the taxi driver hurrying to go geylang?Originally posted by norm:was he rushing to geylang for his daily dosage of china babes?
i got a similar experience whereby the meter displayed $9.90. Upon reaching, he said $10.00! 10 cents diff is also money and he don't even bother to return me - which i feel lacks professionalism and positive image to spore taxis.Originally posted by monoslayer:i took tis cab n the meter displayed $19.90 upon reaching my house.. the uncle jus said, "aiyah! $20 lah!"![]()
Well the answer is yes cause some how we pay for their service not for their attitude or smile ma they safety drove you to that destination then of course you have to pay ..To err is human maybe on that day he is pissed of in some what way you offended him lar not say your fault but ya..maybe there is some misunderstanding..maybe is the previous passenger who pissed him off so he come and sarcasm you.Originally posted by limpshaggy:Most taxi drivers i been on have been good to excellent in their service attitudes but i meet a few wankers. ya loh.. i was so prepared to ask him to keep the change loh... kns... din expect him to take things for granted..Originally posted by SBS3688Y:i got a similar experience whereby the meter displayed $9.90. for some cabbies who bothered to return me that 10cents, i always told them to keep change; because I feel "song" mah! coz they are more honest!
Next time give courtious drivers tips , or when you complaint about such rude drivers , say this to the company as well" hope that you'll remard drivers who are courtious as by doing so , it will encourage those drivers to be courtious " like that sounds better right?Originally posted by limpshaggy:Thanks for the feedback.
From now on, take cab i know must note driver name and license number and maybe take receipt if i feel like doing so.
So going by your theory, if i stop the cab and pay the taxi driver, during the time i am settling payment with the taxi driver the traffic police is gonna book us?Originally posted by storywolf:limpshaggy
Just remember one thing - where your friend is in does not matters - as long as the taxi have to wait - stop and block flow of traffic is wrong.
Does it matters to all the cars & buses .... that your taxi block ? What the reason is ... the fact matters, your friend is just not able to get into the taxi and it is blocking the road ... !
If a policeman come along book the taxi - you think he will not book you if you tell him - taxi uncle just waiting for your friend, your friend not familiar with place so cannot find taxi ... the policeman will still book you whatever the reason is .... the fact still remain - you all blocking traffic.
If you all not familiar with the place at least ask your friend to reach there eariler - and find the main road taxi stand or something easy to look out for from taxi coming down the road and call you to let you know.
If you care and think of others - then you put in extra effort not to cause in trouble for others....
So stop blaming taxi uncle for your and your friends action, as a little effort on your part could have avoided that and also cause less trouble for cars and buses that you guys blocked
What will happen if the fare is $10.10 and he said : " $10 is ok ? "Originally posted by SBS3688Y:i got a similar experience whereby the meter displayed $9.90. So you setting payment with the taxi driver is a big deal is it ? Why cannot the traffic police book you for that ! They just choose to let you go that all, just because the traffic police and other give you a chance, does not mean you will get away with it all the time.Originally posted by limpshaggy:So going by your theory, if i stop the cab and pay the taxi driver, during the time i am settling payment with the taxi driver the traffic police is gonna book us?I don;t know which village you live in, but i have never seen traffic police book taxi for what you describe above. As for blocking other cars, i already explain that in another post above.
