u ever ask for discount for taxi fare?

eg. fare is $7.10 or $7.20 or $7.30, u ask the driver if u can pay $7.
or u realized he went a long way to ur destination, n u got pissed n so when reach ur destination, u demand a discount.
or u tell him a pitiful story about how poor u are....
so u people ever tried any of these before? did it work? got how much discount? -
Got. That time I late 4 werk. Sekali not enough money. Fare ish 12.50. Then I no 50 cents or two dollars. So in the end, the ang-ker say 12 bucks enuff.

He will usually round down the fare as i always chat with the drivers.
sometimes i give them tips oso becos i am rushing for time. -

its because some taxi drivers double standard and give discount. Now i find it a hassle when the cost is x dollars and 10cents or 20cents.

Ya once. Last year when i took a silvercab from Ang Mo Kio back home , the meter was $13.60 but i only got $13.30 , the driver say never mind so i gave him the $13.30.
A few days agao , when i took the peugeot partner cab from Sengkang , SH2563L , back home , the fare was $16.70 , i gave the driver $20 but ask him for $3 change only , coz i'm giving him $0.30 tips.
Some drivers if good they will round down fares but some they wont as they are earning a living too , they work so hard for every dollar & every cent for their living & for their family. This is what i could understand that although i used to talk to them but never get discount , i dont mind at all , this is a humanity , pay for services provided to you or for what you get.
