hello guys im new to this forum and i have a passion for taxis
which taxis in singapore are the fastest? i heard that skoda superb 2.5 can hit 230km/h..is that true? fastest speed i ever experienced in a cab is 140+km/h in a mercedes e220. also last time i saw a mercedes taxi (forgot which model) drag race with a wrx and win o.O -

is it the drivers get out of their cars and drag their respective cars to the finish line?

2am traffic light at changi, both rev engine bfore green light then speed off until i cannot even see them -

I think the smallest taxi here can easily hit more than 140km/h if they really want.
But I will definitely not drive above 120km/h... all your hard earnings will do down the drain if kena summon... I usually drive max 20km/h above speed limit... My hirer told me he once drove at 90km/h when the speed limit is 50km/h. Kena $900.... heart ache -
I once at PIE towards jurong .... dunno where kena camera , speed limit 80km/h , could be Simei's stretch or be Toa Payoh stretch , kena 6 points , $120 . ( TP never indicate where , just PIE )

Another time at Upper Bt Timah Road , outside Hazel Park Condo , just at junction of Mindef , kena Speed Trap , road limit 60km/h , i got caught 91 km/h , 31km/h access over legal limit , 6 points , $180 . -

No tickets , just Court Order !
Verdict : 18 points demerit , $800 fine .

Is it true that if you drive exceed by less than 20km/h, TP will never bother to summon you? Anyone know? What about those fixed speed cameras? The one at ECP after shears bridge has a speed limit of 70km/h. Damn slow

well generally its true la..cos singapore speed limits really quite slow and its acceptable for cars to exceed the speed limit by abit as long as they pose a danger to other motorists. so mostly tp wont catch you if you exceed by less than 20 la, but of course this doesnt apply all of the time. if you suay you still will get caught by tp.
as for speed cameras, i think same rule applies. you see so many cars on right lane of expressways going 100+ km/h, obviously tp no time to catch all. only those that speed really exceed alot (ah beng racers ) will get summon bah.
