How about I tell the truth you don't know?
1.The new model shown above has auto transmission while the previous YSX10 had manual transmission. Both gear levers are mounted where the windscreen wiper lever is.
2.The car is called the CROWN COMFORT actually, dunno why it's called CROWN in SG.
3. They still have Ford Falcons and Nissan Cedrics in HK.
4.The car shown above is a replacement of the YSX10, however they will not replace all YSX10's with the new one.
5.There are no more diesel taxis in HK.
6.HK's Transport Department actually asked Toyota to produce Crown Comforts with 1 extra seat, because all HK taxi have been like that, even those previous Morris Oxfords had 5 seats.
here are more truth...
crown taxi looks damn ugly, damn noisy (travel above 90km/h, conversations become shouting), and most importantly not so safe (brake not so good and can skid quite easily)
In short, i find it a disgraceful esp when it is used to ferry tourists. I am very puzzled why LTA approved crown for so long... but luckily newer cars are replacing the stupid crown finally...

Rest assured that the HK Toyota Crowns are quiet (as least if you compre it with the Singapore ones)
well, the only thing I find it good about the toyota crowns is the legroom as well as the doors can be opened wide enough w/o squeezing..
and the trade mark engine hum that could be heard from afar
