Let me ask you how many pple you know have stop taking cab to work ? The only pple still taking cab are the corporate type cos not their $$ -
I believe some part time relief driver have start surrendering and the hirer will feel the pinch cos they have to pay the full fare of $108 for a sonata , $54 more , they will have to work harder to make the extra $$ to cover the rental, analyse the impact on their livelihood you will see the action cabby will take

When taxi good business , everybody chiong to get license , when classroom full-house , u need to wait , wait for these , wait for that ... waste alot of time .
So what happen now ?
If u apply now , everything fast , no need to wait too long ...either for a class , or exams , or waiting for a VL license after u pass .
Same old story ... if u have time to spare , not so busy , why not take this opportuniy and a little bit of your time to get a license ?
S'pore got taxi license won't die one la . just take la , take and keep it for raining day .
When u got a license , actually can happy happy go find a taxi and drive for fun ... like drive on Friday night , Saturday night , quite fun actually .
That's how we have part-time drivers on the road .
Being a new part-time driver , it's good actually , cos u Earn-As-U-Learn , no stress , no overheads burden , no physical tension etc .... just relax and drive , and earn a bit , go home ! Just be discipline , and drive according to the allocated time , never will lose $$$ .
Then while u drive , u'll learn more new things , from roads & landmarks , Human's Interactions skill , body-language , selling a good Singapore cabby's image , knowing of different people from different corner of the globe , learn about different cultures , protecting the image of Singapore etc .... This one nobody will teach , u learn while working , and this sort of lessons is as precious as a gem !

But if the slow business persists, it will likely mean more taxis quitting than lower fare. Meaning, those who boycott will have to skip taxi forever to make their point (whatever that is)

Let me ask you how many pple you know have stop taking cab to work ? The only pple still taking cab are the corporate type cos not their $$
We get more workload,
get paycut,
get less benefits,
thus... become unhappy... bui gum .... du lan
every1 talking abt leaving... but few leaves in the end....
This is a trend...
There is always some1 (probably less qualified) willing to work for $60 a day in yr case...

i see a lot of people using the word 'boycott'.
i hardly think this is a conscious effort to purpose not take taxi. its just a demand decision based on current prices.
comfort got too greedy too fast by having such a huge increase. -

Example you pickup a pax from Chinatown, he told you example 608 Ang Mo kio, how will you plan your journey while you start your journey to the destination. Can you highlight us as we are all beginner should say green, hope you can share some of your knowledges over here. -

Usually when pax tell me destination, i will quickly visualise the destination and my present location and think of all possible and smoothest routes. Then I will ask pax take e.g. CTE then exit xzy?
It takes some time... sometimes i read the street directory. You will realise the Aves are arranged in certain order.. like odd ave runs east to west and even aves run north to south... And i will faint as a pax if the taxi driver not sure of very major road and expressways exits. Those are must know
My preference is never ask pax how he wants to go cos that waste a lot of time discussing and worse, he suggests some @#@! route. So i think fast, then tell him my suggestion
I will say we can improve road network working as a taxi driver, but dont try to improve driving skill as a taxi driver. Driving skill must be of certain standard b4 you become one cos very expensive consequences...touch wood

Just wondering, for how long than for a taxi driver to get familiar with all the whole Singapore network housing estate roads.
Like anything within your fingertip even those old uncle taxi drivers with many year of experience and those new generation drivers.
Example about the location just 608 Ang Mo Kio the pax told you know it is at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 within. Is there any formula.
Stylo lah just need to know more about this, can share over here. -

It's silly to me ( cos they stay AMK , usually they know the situation better ) , go by Thomson also not any good , so i'll replied : " Not as bad , cos now got ERP ! "
This is my way of tackling customers , i gave them no options really . Any other options can still be negotiate , but tat's to my style ....
It's CTE or CTE ....
Then i'll drive all the way CTE , exit AMK Ave 5 , upon reaching , even if i knew where's blk 608 , i'll still asked : "Go straight , sir ? " ..... Let them lead u to blk 608 , like that guarantee no wrong doings . If u anyhow humtum , sekali wrong , then u're inviting complaints for nothing , ask better !
I never like asking : "U want to go by which way ? "
when u ask this way , u gave them an option , his option can be more difficult route compare to my option .

After 8pm , normal standard , what hit me is the 5pm to 8pm period . That's what caused the drop .
But ..... Takashimaya , Bugis still can get bookings after 8pm , even with the $3 city charge .
After 8pm , no problem , never was a problem .
My Crown scrap this Sunday .
Next Friday my new Sonata come .
Every decision have to wait til after Lunar new Year .
Now Comfort still low price for diesel , $0.94 / liter , if they raised , then i'll more likely to quit my new Sonata . -

Those green signboard directory standard , apply all around Spore .
N1 means blk 1xx , N2 means 2xx etc ....
St.11 means blk 110-119 , St.12 means 120-129 , St.13 blk 130-blk 139 etc .....
Aiyo 3 months , 70% Spore u sure can cover .
Spore very tiny one , if u're born in Spore , easy .
But ur memory must be like a sponge , everytime u hit a location , that location must be in ur brain liao . -

In fact , Sengkang very easy .....
Rivervale all blk 100+
Compassvale all blk 200+
Anchorvale all block 300+ .....
Cabbies confused themself with those names like Rivervale drive , rivervale cresent , Anchorvale Link etc ... no need remeber names , just remeber the block , good enough . -

Pay attentions to .... those buildings at Shenton Ways , Cecil streets and Robinson road .
Cos more % , those who take a cab there , dunno where is it ? That's why they took a cab , if not , they take a bus / mrt .

This one only for staff. And you can only drive the cab after your office hours or off/rest days including your annual leave.
