somehow i do not see it beneficial for cabby or public.Originally posted by seancannot:Due to the nature of my job , i took a lot cab , most cabby I spoke to are considering the return the cab after CNY .. think the current problem will be solved cos less cab on the road means less competion and
good new for comfort is if 15 % of pple return their cab
They lose 1500 * $100 per day = $150,000 per day .congratualtion !
1) not true even comfort dangle a carrot to entice pple to sign up nowadayOriginally posted by skeujin:somehow i do not see it beneficial for cabby or public.
1) for the cabbie, quit quit lor. there will be 2 persons waiting to take your job
2) so now even if you can afford the higher rates for fares, you still cant get a cab.
duhz
i do not think a big company like comfort will really worry about people walking out. they have their own recruitment campaigns n policies. anyway would the govt bother about a 100 cabbies walking out from their jobs? no way.Originally posted by seancannot:1) not true even comfort dangle a carrot to entice pple to sign up nowaday
2)depending on your location , if you at orchard last night 11:30 pm u c so many cab unlike the past
uncles... 99.99% of the people (used to take cabs one) decide "that's it"... no more cabs unless at least 4 people shared cabs or something very urgent...Originally posted by Poolman:Do we still need foreigners to drive a taxi now ?
Singapore don't need foreigners to drive taxis , money can solve many problems .
Base on what i did for the last week or so ....
And what happened on Friday evening ...
My conclusion : Fare hike is a forgotten issue as days past ..... cabbies income is slowly climbing up to their normal level , or higher .
Think both cabbies and commuters will be happy , Only Comfort is not , they are to make less , almost $10 million alone on bookings .
Everything , after Chinese New year then we'll see a clearer & brighter picture .
What helped us : The demand surge after 8pm , all the way to 12am .
The extra customers after 8pm help cabbies to cover those lost-time during peak hours .
Cabbies like me just need to adjust ourself during peak hours , then very soon , i promised those cabby-to-be forumites here , i think most will get $4000 each month !
$4000 with a Sunday off . ( 26 working days )
Easily .
U don't believe ?Originally posted by Seven_Dragon:uncles... 99.99% of the people (used to take cabs one) decide "that's it"... no more cabs unless at least 4 people shared cabs or something very urgent...

typical singaporean taxi uncle f***ing arrogant attitudeOriginally posted by Poolman:U don't believe ?
Time will tell .
Those "That's it !" people always got their very last reason to say : "last time i take taxi ".....
I don't know where u find those 99.9% , but i did found the left-over 1% that is good enough to feed us $4k a month .
One thing for sure , i have to admit this , those people who took their own money to take a cab , is less .
Lucky us we still have many many who's company reimburse their taxi fare , banks like UBS , Credit Suisse , Citibank , DBS Bank .... many more people from Shenton Way , 99.90% can be reimburse after overtime .
Tuas industrial area has got thousands ....
Jurong Island has got many 24hours operating plants .
Suntec City also has got 5 towers , 2 Milennium and Centennial Towers
Too bad , i'm sad for those who still pay for their own fare after overtime .
Quit this job if the boss so stingy .
I foreseen $4k is still a modest amount .
You are wrong. Poolman is a 'thinking taxi driver'. He got positive thinking. This type of driver wont die in Sg.Originally posted by Seven_Dragon:typical singaporean taxi uncle f***ing arrogant attitude

I got a feeling they're trimming down the fleet .... a bit like cut-cost . Overhaul into a small , but manageable , and competitive company .Originally posted by skeujin:i do not think a big company like comfort will really worry about people walking out. they have their own recruitment campaigns n policies. anyway would the govt bother about a 100 cabbies walking out from their jobs? no way.
Thanks for ur encouragement .Originally posted by kinwashi:Yes, he is my idol Poolman.
With his encouragement from his private message to me, finally I go ahead with his personal advise.

Time will tell. it is fun, take it as an hobby, spending time meeting more peoples, gain experience and money cannot buy the time you spend on the road.. haha Poolman.
Leave them alone if they are not interested with your teaching.
Based on figures provided by ComfortDelGro, Singapore's biggest taxi operator, cabbies are pocketing about $11 more a day, earning about $318.This $318 is base on an average OMO driver .
