as long as taxi company won't use cars that are made in china as taxis but I'm not surprised if they decided to do just that ![]()
When they used Merc Vito ( Made-in-India ) , they had intended to use it for 10 years .
But now , their policy is 5 years scrapped , so Korean vehicle came 2nd to non in this 5 years category , Euro-V engines .
Korean engines cannot tahan 10 years la , but 5 years still can la .

I myself encounter a bit of problem with Hyundai Sonata liao .... heard very soon Comfort converting back to Toyotas ..... ComfortDelgro now faces high cost of maintenance of Sonata .
just spotted it today, travelling along Bukit timah road towards woodlands
another new model taxi.... so far my favourite is still sonata.
Look solid and nice
quiet inside even at high speed
amazing pick up
auto transmission
very good brakes
Only downside is probably should have bigger mirror (too many blind spots) and like poolman says higher maintenance

so that explains why most sonatas that I see have an extra added mirror above the side mirror & those are added by the drivers themselves ![]()

Do u know if Comfortdelgro is using the base line or the higher-end Hyundai Starex?
The baseline is powered by a 100 horsepower turbo-diesel so that explain the fast accleration because of the 220 Newton Metre Torque. However i'll expect power to splutter out on the expressway because of the low pony count.![]()
However,if CDG use the higher one - ah.. WRX and Evolution X owners beware... 400 Newton Metre-packed engine with 180 hourse will be capable of holding on for a while in traffic light races ![]()

I think the 100bhp version is called the 2.5 TCI is it? Then the more powerful one is called the 2.5 CRDi. Since the info provided by QX179R says "2.5 CRDi", then it's the more powerful version.
I doubt 100bhp can lug around the load of 7 people. ![]()
