U r not comparing apple with apple.
Owning a car and taking taxi are two (2) different issues altogether.
Owning a car has liablities compare to taking a cab.
See the differences now?
Please compare apple wif applw and orange wif orange.

Currrently , i paid $1.23 / L , which i paid about $37 for every $300km , my earning is about from nett $100 to nett $80 , a $20 more compared to previously .
That is $1.23 per litre .
If $2 / litre ... i am going to pay $60 for 300 km .
Poolman,
The rising cost of diesel is NOT killing you alone. It also kills non drivers let alone car owners.
Singapore is the only place in the world with highest in everything, highest cost of petrol and diesel in the world compare to developed countries and not 3rd world.

Yeah. you can slowly compare comfort taxi, smrt taxi, yellow cab taxi and etc.
Then lets continue to GO GREEN by standing on the steps of buses?
It cost me more than $30 to travel from Changi Airport to my house (at northern part of Singapore) during peak hour.
The subcharge for peak hour is a killer!

As a cabby, i find driving increasingly difficult… higher diesel, higher ERP and eventually less pax… I dun think I can do much to adjust except to earn less …so what do i do? i tell myself to just drive happily and if not happy dun drive… me only part time so i can.. but full time cabby i dont know how… maybe poolman can tell you…
Don't worry, seem like poolman coping very well (from his comment).
But if the gov going to start extending ERP gantries outside CBD also (which is very likely), then the fare going to get even more expensive.
