A few months back , i was questioning , why did all smaller taxi companies not doing anything to the peak hour surcharges ? All talk only ??
They stupid la to wait for Comfort to do something .... They must merge these resolution to make Comfort follow .
If Smart , Transcab , SilverCab and Prime start announcing their fleet has no peak hour surcharge , Comfort this time will follow suit .
Stupid la if they wait for Comfort .... they wait they die .
Second cars for taxis ? Already so many taxi on the road , still wanna suggest such crap ?
This Prime chief idiot la ..... dunno the market too well , now it's not the shortage of taxi , it's shortage of demands .
His suggestion makes no logic .
The move will be like that ...
Smart , Prime , Silvr and Transcab start rolling waiving off peak hour surcharge .
Then commuters boycott Citycab and Comfort , and chose those non-peak hour taxi .... Comfort and Citycab drivers income dropped even further , switch company , Comfort got hit , then they follow .
Who win ?
Drivers won , small companies won , commuters won , comfort don't lose a single cent of this .
Only buses and train affected a bit .
Still Singapore cabbies good citizens , no guts to protest , unlike HongKong , Taiwan and Korea drivers ....especially HK drivers , any buay song , they'll make the authority aware of their needs and agonies .
In fact , if all drivers , chose just a day no driving , as a form of protest , they eventually will win .... nothing in vain la , i don't see the old drivers wanna do such thing .
Cut rental for just $10 ?
U choose rental cut ? No , i chose lower peak hour surcharge , if not cut away the peak hour surcharge .
If peak hour go back just $1 , and the demand goes up to +10% , i can add at least $18.00 to my current wages .
To reduce the peak hour surcharge , i am anticipating just 10% more demand if not more .
i been through the Asian Financial crisis , sars crisis , World Trade Centre collapsed crisis , Bali bomb crisis ..... It's a money world , money makes the world go round .
To chose rental cut and peak hour cut .... i chose the latter .
Rental cut beneficial to "motivation slacken" drivers ( so called kopi shop cabbies ), peak hour surcharge motivate hardworking drivers .
Have a think .
Now COE only $691 .... looked like the LTA don't favour a change in the taxi pricing .
The logic is ..... 1.if they lower the price , car buyers % go down further , revenue down !
2.Bus and MRT takers % down , revenue down !
3.If taxi fare is cheaper than owning a car , or cheaper than taking a bus or MRT , then again , against their policy .
2 companies definitely don't favour a price reduction exercise , SMRT and ComfortDelgro , who operate the 2 train lines and bus services .
One and only way ... Smart , Silver , TransCab and Prime , merge into one lower pricing , then SMRT and ComfortDelgro lan lan will follow .
If they don't follow , many hirers will jump ship . Whatever benefit u can give .
Still dunno why the smaller companies don't make use of the current economy situation , and lower the pricing altogether , it defintely will benefit them , as well as commuters and drivers .
agreed..
sometimes I wish they could just make up their own decisions instead of waiting for the bigger player which in this case is comfort..
Hi all,
I would like to ask something....
If from Clarke Quay (the Cannery there) - Bedok South - Aljunied
Boarding period is after 12am. Traffic is clear. Not much vehicles around.
how much does the cab fares cost roughly?
Thanks!
Still no news from Taxi companies on how they want to help taxi drivers during this downturn when there are less pax taking cabs???
less pax = less income for all cabbies...
Originally posted by ALN:clark to bedok south after 12am is about $16….back to aljunied should be about $23
Your price is via Nicholl Highway , is it ?
By ECP maybe abit more ...but not much la .
