In order to slove the shortage of Taxi problem,
STA Advisor Ang Tua Kee going to proposed in Parliament that :
All New TDVL holder MUST be a relief driver for one year before they can confirmed their TDVL.

Harlow ct bro, where got say must be relief for one year before TDVL is confirmed? Dun anyhow say say hor.
Ang Ku Kueh is proposing new TDVL holders must be relief for one year first. Cannot straightaway becum hirer. Once pass exam, get licence is confirmed liao.

This means new drivers will be put on probation lor. Will solve the shortage of TD problem??? Higher entry barrier means less ppl will turn to driving.....hmmm this will be good excuse for them to claim that no locals want to be drivers and thus.....FTs will take over??? Knn....
Ministers need to be relief ministers first boh? Knn. Ppl on top really know how to squeeze ppl at the bottom. Damnzzz

can i ask, so those still within 1 year need to follow this or not. or is it only apply those not yet pass? but if 1st year need be relief, can this new driver queue for taxi? then what if in the first year, change hirer becos hirer no good or eat the new relief becos he knows 1st year, then can combine all the time into 1 year or must be continous 1 year

According to STA, For every batch of new TDVL ONLY about 50% take on to be a TD.
The rest all take the TDVL as spare tyre,
Another about 10% is those new citizen that take TDVL is to have a TAXI as personal transport and carry on their property agent, insurance agent, trading agent 。。。。。Bz.
So Ang Tua Kee want these 50% of spare tyrw to go on road NOW.

as private car ownership is getting beyond reach, TD is a very good option

Basically, it is to beef up reliefs population, as hirers keep complaining hard to find reliefs, so they use this method lor, also good lah, at least give all these newbies a test of water first before they decide want to be hirer or quit and go back to work
