Life is short indeed! But too bad for me , at this moment i dun have the luxury to do whatever i like leh. Still got some financial commitments. Envy you leh Bowah. Must enjoy your life to the fullest bro!

Drive taxis is own time own target one lah, but once on the road, you have to concentrate 6 to 7 hrs to make some decent profit, and more importantly, tell your family not to disturb unless very urgent matter. It is the easier take up trade, if ah pek like me can make it without GPS (dunno how to use) how can a young handsome man like you cannot make it, piece of cake lah. Listen to your heart

Own time own target is something i really like. Experienced td like u don't need gps, all in the brain. I also hope i can master road planning without depending on gps.

If day shift disciplined driving for 5 wkdays and rest on wkends, can i earn btw $2k to $2.5k a month?

2-2.5k/mth is achievable for normal workdays, school holidays excluded. thats about 100/day

Thanks for sharing with me so much info again! Yes , Health may deteriorate faster than usual as td which i am slightly worried. I hope i can tahan my job as long as possible and drive as part time at the same time.

health deteriorate?? no lah, you dun go listen to those lau ka po Taxi drivers talk cock lah, drive taxi actually is healthy, it prevent you from getting dementia, insomnia (after driving very good to sleep) and a good self confident that make yourself feel so worthy, happy and satisfy, and with happy, you get more lucky. Now you work for others, is like a puppet, ask you do this, you must do, ask you do that, you must do, siao bo??? why get exploit by others and end up they gain more than you? Even if taxis is earning less, many Uncle also dun mind driving it, because you break the relationship of master and slave.

Out of curiosity, if given you a job $3k monthly before cpf ( job scope - office environment) 6 days work. Would you choose to stick with taxi driving or take up the this job offer?

The statement of Work Life Balance is a poor phrase. To put work first before life is like telling you Work is more important than life. It should be rephrased as Life 60% Work 40%. However, most locals put Life at 30 or 20%, but work 70 to 80 and some even 100% (which is commonly said to be no life) Given a 3K job, yes, you can go into many other freelance job that still can give you more than 3K at your own timing and command of yourself. 10 years ago, my ex chief said, anyone who is willing to pay him a 4k job, he will leave taxi driving and go back to work. Now, ten years later, it should be 4500 to 5k, so if you are currently earning that amount, stay put, dun drive taxis.

I agree. Luck is very important in this business. I lack road knowledge but i believe this is something cannot be taught, hopefully will improve by experience.
