Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- Guy Dupre, secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea (CILRECO), hailed new progress made in the relations between the north and the south of Korea in the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration in a statement issued on June 17 in connection with the fact that leader Kim Jong Il met the special envoy of the south Korean president. Kim Jong Il gave lucid answers to the wide-ranging issues including the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. and the inter-Korean relations, the statement said, and continued:
This positive development will give strong impetus to the reunification movement of the Korean nation as it is a brilliant fruition of Kim Jong Il's unshakable and broadminded policy for reunification.
The CILRECO extends full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to reunify the country independently in the spirit of the joint declaration, it concluded.
