Lanolin (sheep oil) is a famous local product of New Zealand.
It is of the closest quality to human oil so it is readily absorbed into the skin, leaving it fully moisturized.
For other lotions in the market, the moisturizing ingredient may not be suitable or not close enough to our skin's natural oil so it is not readily absorbed, thus causing the cream to stay at the surface of your skin and not absorbed.
