  can buy one industrial one from scope makers and dealers like mitutoyo and zeiss.....but such scope usually for industrial precision machined and professionally assembly u hav to pay more.
  
  if u r just going to look at sexy insect and ant go buy a magnifying glass can oredi
  
  if u lookin for a handheld smaller magnifying glass can try the eye lup...

  think to see cells, you need at least 700-1000 times magnification?
  
  optical microscopes can only go up to 1000 times max...but have to trade between depth of view and field of view...not so good.
  
  for >1000 times up to 500,000 times max...you need an electron microscope, but samples may need to be conductive, else cannot see anything...higher mag ones you can use field-emission or high-mag electron microscopes..
  
  for up to 1 million times and over, use TEM. (can see atoms some more)!

  ohh..to approximate,
  
  700-1000 times can see up to 10-20 microns level,
  500,000 times can see up to 0.02microns or 20 nanos level, or nano-structured materials
  1million times above can see up to 5-10 nanos level down to atomic level, but need super resolution microscope.
