Anyone use eBay before. This is my first time.. I bid for a 1G MMC card at $ 102.50. During the process, I contacted the seller thru email to enquire about the product. I also asked if I can buy the card from him before the bidding closed at the bid price. He say no as the card would cost about $130 in the market. If I am willing to pay $130, he do not mind selling it to be. But me, I decided to try bidding. I managed to win the bid at $102.50 but now I cannot contact the seller. Isn't this a scam ???

u have to be prepared for such things in ebay loh
cos eberything is virtual....anytime anyone can jus disappear and void the auction.....
usually i would message the other party and get his/her contact number and transact personally.....
in a way to prove tt it's valid and oso faster, as some ppl would wanna sell their things asap and dun relli wanna wait for the auction to end..... -
Try contacting him again and give him up to 3 days(norm.) to reply. If he still does not reply, leave him a negative rating.

Being new, always at disadvantage ... a lesson learnt lor. I think I might not want to bother to give rating as the registration is free and anyone can just sign up under the guise of another name.. I think this is the loop hole here..

mmc are going real cheap these days
me oni used ebay and online retail sites to get things i can't get in SG -

I was there looking for MP3 and also just window shop the MMC. The cheapest is $ 139.90. I think that is quite a diff lor... Don't you think so? Anyway, there is no urgency to buy the card so I tot I just try bidding lor, also to gain some experience in on-line purchase.. It seems the first experience is always going to be a long lasting one ....

How long has it been since the auction closed? Give the fella a few days to get back to you, esp if he has had good feedback all this while ...

if u wanna be more secure u can bid those ppl with a high positive rating loh......
and if possible, try to message him and ask him for details blah blah....build up some rapport and test if the other party is trustworthy....
gotta be bery cautious and alert when dealing virtually.... -
Usually you'll be able to get the items cheaper on Auction as the dealer might be running a mobile business. He doesn't have to pay rent so his products are cheaper. I will follows your advises in dealing with future on-line purchases. Czehmate, you are right. I should give him a few days and see how. After I got three days to complete the transactions after the bidding close. I suppose I am a bit kan cheong...

i give up on eBay already .. each time i post something to sell .. i got lots and lots of email from some idiots claiming to be africans or nigerians .. anyone got same problems also ? and they only want to do business with western union or bidpay .. and what they email me are always the same ..
got one time i'm trying to sell my PS1 .. got this buyer from nigeria said she wanted to buy that product for her mother in africa .. she said it's for a gift and she's willing to pay me $1000 for the PS1
!! Tsk tsk tsk .. Then I purposely argue with her to raise the money and tell her to pay me via Paypal .. once she felt irritated, i emailed her one last time and say "F*UCK YOU !!!!!!"

As in any other business, there are always black sheep trying to capitalise the situation to their full advantage.. sigh, it is a sad fact. There is always a sucker born everyday, I supposed. But take heart. There is a lesson learn lor. I am still not giving up... Just till the whole situation is really over. I managed to contact the seller. He says his is out of stock and the new stock will come in only next week. Whether this is a delaying tactic, only time will tell. Although I am not too optimistic, but it is only fair I give the matter a little time to settle....

COMFIRMED... eBay is a scam... I spoke to the seller three times on the phone, each time he say he is out of stock and asked me to call the following day to check if new stock comes... Every day, same answer... no stock..
If he has no stock why post it for auction in the first place. Just because he cannot get his price, the have to resort to such trickery.... Why must fleece innocent people ... Don't people ever think of decent living anymore ???

ya. I supposed you're right. But I bought the matter to eBay and they say they need 1 - 2 days to investigate. It's more than a week now yet they have not reverted. Also, on their website, I posted my problem too, but that don't seems to help too.
Anyway, that will be my last time buying over there. Hope mine experience can serves as a timely reminders to some who want to buy over there. You have to be more careful lor ... Don't be like me ....

will there relli be such "good deals"?
u will either question the credibility of the seller or the origin of the goods.....
dun get urself into trouble......some things still better to get from proper sources....
im not saying tt all ebay sellers are dishonest.......but as i oredi mentioned above.....better to be cautious and dun put in too high hopes..... -

I think before you want to bid that item, it's best to check the seller's ratings loh.
So far i had a transaction at ebay, shipment is fast, so no complain.
