  Recently I helped a friend assemble a computer with the following specs with a tight budget and weird configuration:
  1.6 AMD Athlon XP CPU
  256 RAM
  Nvidia Geforce2 64mb
  20GB Maxtor Harddisk
  52X BENQ(acer) cdrom drv
  32x CDR BENQ
  250 ZIP Drive internal
  15" Monitor
  floppy/keyboard/scroll mouse
  2.1 sub woofer speaker set.
  56k v.90 modem internal
  (integrated audio onboard)
  I met his budget of $1300. All parts are completely new!

  hey, I have a budget of 1500 - 1700. Can you build a pc. My main aim is to use it for graphics and video editting ( photoshop, aftereffects, 3d studio max) etc. no modem is needed.

  u would need a good monitor, preferably a crt flat screen... lg flatron will be good, a geforce2 32mb will be enuff for ur purpose, a 256 mb ram will be adequate.... cpu maybe 1.4gb more than enuff... im sure a system can be built within ur budget.
