  Heard that U.S version of PS2 is banned for sale in singapore, due to safety measures. Its 110V does not meet the requirements of singapore's 230V. And a U.S PS2 cost probably $450 bucks in singapore, n a Japan version costs around $750. But Japan version can only play japan games which is NTSC/J, cannot play american games which is PAL. Can play if modified.
