  I need to buy a laptop for the start of JC, basically one just to serve school purposes. It doesn't matter whether it's a newly bought, 2nd-hand or even brand new lappie. (: Just need a cheap 1
  
  . Processor - NO AMD. Preferably Intel Core Duo and above.
  . RAM - 512 MB Preferably Kingston DDR2 SDRAM 400Mhz and above.
  . HD - 80GB and above.
  . GUP - Preferably Intel/Nvidia
  . Wifi - Preferably inbuilt Wifi capable of handling 54mbps
  
  Looking for prices below 700, not too much to ask for considering the following laptop going for 1.2k.

  For those who are interested, kindly state specifications in details, ie. including hardware polling rate, brand, warrenty (or not), OS, how long the pc has been bought, pre-installed programs such as anti viruses, dvd burning softwares, MS office and most importantly, whether Recovery Discs come along etc.

  Core 2 Duo is the next subgeneration of processors following the Core Duo; Note that its sub, because technically, the generation of processors prior to Core Duo and Core 2 Duo was the line of Pentium 4 processors.
  
  In terms of laptop specifically, Core Duo and Core 2 Duo is branded under the name of Centrino, built for mobile purposes; with features including lesser electricity consumption, less wiring etc.
  
  What my dad did, was to pit a desktop 2.4 Core Duo against a 1.83 Core 2 Duo. The benchmark test reflected the 2.4 Core Duo actually processing faster than the Core2duo
