  aixuan, i don tink anyone will buy it at $12 not even $5. your cage too, at $35, i'll prefer to get a new one at $39, a mere extra 4 dollars for a new one.

  i am thinkg of getting a pair of hamsters as well

  i know chinatown there got an old petshop that has reallie docile ones...

  bugis village has two. but dun go to e one near e road. there's another one after e food court which is along a long corridor.
  
  serangoon avenue 1 olso has alot of shops selling those. hamsters r selling frm 15 - 20 dollars.
  
  btw, do not buy frm pets station. i sold dem sapphires for $1 n deey sold it for $20. it's ok if dey sterilised my hamsters but dey didn't n dey sold it for $20. for $20 u can get a holland breed and sterilised one. pets station sux to e core man. well, if u still cannot find cheap hamsters contact me den

  syrians are solitary and one will do, while dwarves are USUALLY kept in pairs of groups........
  
  s'goon ave 2 quite cheap.....sometimes 2 dwarves for $25
  when high supply, price can drop to $10 per hamster......cage and food oso relatively cheaper than those pet shops u find in shopping centres.....
  Pet Kiosk has good hamsters....
  
  u can go to Pet Safari at Simei......
  there is this new pet shop at suntec....might be a bit ex but they hammies are kept in good conditions and the staff if friendly.....

  Just to add in...
  
  syrian are more aggresive and sometimes they bite....they are abit bigger sized than dwarfs..
  
  dwarfs got 3 types, winter whites, campbells and roboski...both winter and campbell looked similar but can dif them easily by their ear and fur... winter whites are much friendly and i never bitten by them b4, campbell are more nippy... roboski are very fast and active, they are best to keep only for viewing...

  in singapore, chinese hamsters not very common.....
  look like mouse (long tail) but the features are very much hamsters' features.....
