  As a personal tutor teaching AS and A level Biology I would recommend this book highly to my students. The text is well written and guides reader from the basics (GCSE grade C level) up to the more in depth information needed for A level. There are also brief extension sections that give more detail on specific topics (This includes topics present on the new A level syllabuses that are hard to find in older A level texts) Each chapter ends with a clear summary and a selection of examination questions (answers are not given) The book is well organised and the illustrations are clear, colourful and interesting. A very approachable, useful resource for AS and A level students.
