Custom homes are called to be the homes of the olden days generally. But earlier the term was used for the big houses built by the government to house many of its offices and the single building will then act as the administrative office for the same. The houses constituted of gigantic entrances, excessive use of wood in the construction, rough and beautiful floors, wide and lengthy walkways and so on. It is still unaware the source which drives man towards his past. It may be the fondness towards the past or the nostalgia, which soothes him always. But unlike in the olden days, to build the same home drives for luxury to a great extent. The excessive use of wood itself makes it far more luxurious. Again the land value of a waterfront area also accounts for the same. Also the area consumed for the building is far more than a normal house when compared. Thus today the features have been adopted, though the land is not much consumed for the building.
