  hi people
  
  i need help
  i want to purchase a new computer...
  
  my current computer is P3 550MHz
  
  i intend to get a new PC which is a P4 3GHz
  however i read that a new windows version will be out next year which is Lornhorn..
  
  so i am wondering, is it worth it to get a new PC right now at this point of time

  Buy only what you need to use it for.
  
  At P4 2GHZ, you can already do pratically anything and run all types of software.
  
  Buy only what you need.

  yah, p4 2Ghz is gogod enuff to run alot of application even for developer

  Dell offers a P4 3.0 (with HT technology for less than 1.5K. Up to u to customize according to your needs. I just bought one a week ago at $1,900 (w gst) after customizing. Better to order through phone, can bargain one. I managed to bargain for a free diskette drive and a 64MB memory thumbdrive for free. Not worth alot, but better than nothing.
  
  However, be prepared to pay more if u wan the person to set up for u. They only deliver the boxes to your doorstep and leave, unless u paid the set-up fees. Anyway, i paid some 'kopi money' ($10) to the man and he did it for me in the end.

  if u wanna DIY, OS is separate purchase (buy license)
  
  from now till next year is still long way to go
  get ur system first.....if really needed then u buy the OS and install loh......
