Maxonline 1500 is supposed to give subscriber Max 1500kBps download. How come only achieve the max of 30kBps download some of the time and most of the time ranges from 5kBps to 15kBps? The point is why the download speed so slow? Is it because many houses share the same line (network)? Any way to improve the situation? Any suggestion on how to follow-up to get better speed? -

Do check www.starhub.com They provide an explanation on the difference between ADSL cable modem and Cable Networks modem. Btw, ISP CANNOT GUARANTEE fast speed of net surfing as these access speeds are not controled by them but influenced by other factors. i personally think that the downloading speed from singnet cannot be matched with starhub.
I can hit 150kb/s easily
sometimes its not because u can't d/l fast but the source canot match up to ur d/l speed.
but if u compare upload, singnet is definately faster as cable only can hit 15kb/s

Who impose the restriction? Or is it because the highway is shared by so many people and everybody can only craw alone at average of 15kb/s.
If starhub can make the highway (that is under the control of starhub) a little wider, then average speed can go up. How do we know that the bottle net is not with the highway controlled by starhub? -
