Blue violets are seen Tuesday, April 18, 2006 in Lewisberry, Pa., at Gifford Pinchot Stae Park. A smooth 3-8' plant with flowers and leaves on long, separate stalks. The leaves are heart-shaped with scalloped edges. The 1/2-1' dark violet-purple flowers have 5 petals; the lowest one is narrow and spurred behind and the lateral 2 are bearded.
