Diving Photos - Manado + Lembeh Straits 2007

Hi...... just came back from my Manado + Lembeh Straits Dive Trip. A Super 5D4N package with 3 full dive days (4dive, 4dive, 2 dive).... a total of 10 dive. Turn out that this trip is better than the one I had last year, more photos and rare creatures
1st I must thanks Euro Divers at Hotel Sedona Manado for their great service and GREATER Divemaster So please enjoy...... Ooh, due to large amount of photos, the load time will be long, hope u guys/gals got Broadband 
From Dive Site - Timur (East)..... or East of the Village
A pics taken from the boat..... yes, that is a Volcano.... We are on the way to the Bunaken National Marine Park.

Not sure if I'm correct..... but think this is a Starfish called Echinaster Callosus

Spinecheek Anemonfish.... the Big One is the female.

Dive Site - Lekuan
2 Banded Boxer Shrimp
Not sure what those 'Orange Coloured' things are..... small shrimp or some sort of 'insect'
A small Green Turtle.... we sort of scare it when we were 'sight seeing'. It swim pass me on the 2nd photo and dive deep on the 3rd.
A Trumpetfish
Ok.... what do u ppl think this is.... A frogfish A Sea Monster Jar Jar Blink .... neh, just a type of sea sponge 
Ok, another Green Turtle. This is a big one Not dare to get tooo close. At about 1.5M long. Think it was sleeping..... 
A type of Spider Crab - Hoplophrys Oatesii. 2nd photo shows how small it is. That U/W camera belongs to my dive buddy.
A dark coloured Leaf Scorpionfish. 2nd photo is a close-up.

Dive Site - Lekuan (still the same dive)
All these are some small shrimps..... The 1st photo shows a Starfish Shrimp - Periclimenes Soror. This one was hiding under a Cushion Star. The next 2 photo is on the same shrimp..... Anemone Shrimp - Thor Amboinennsis. Both are just around 2cm in length......
Serpent Pteraeolidia... a type of Nudibranch
Some type of Calm growing amount some coral.....
A small orange coloured Whip Goby.
A school of Striped Catfish..... about 4-5cm each.
This photo is taken at about 3m from the surface.
Common Lionfish...... the dark coloured one on the last 2 photo is a Juvenile
Some sort of Spider Crab..... known locally as Orangutan Crab, due to it's 'red hair'.
Porcelain Crab - Neopetrolisthes Oshimai.... the largest I've seen. A good 3-4cm across.....

My friend won a 3d2n stay at Hotel Sedona. So we spend less for room. The whole thing - Air-ticket + Dive trip (9 dive... but they add 1 more) + 2 more days stay...... $900 SGD. Not incl makan + shopping....... Makan was $$$ at the Hotel, about $20+ per person each meal (lunch or dinner). Not much shopping at Manado..... Peac*ck Mantis Shrimp - Odontodactylus Scyllarus.... A colourful thing But well known for its 'Bad Temper'.... can easily smash our camera's U/W casing with a strike from it's claws
Collingwood's Chromodoris for the 1st 2 photo..... the last one is Ocellate Phyllidia. Both are Nudibranch (Sea Slug)

Another thing I can't any information of...... It's got this rubber like surface, and is slightly hard.

A crab is 'hitch-hiking' on the Sea Cucumber (1st 2 pics)..... what happen when u hold on the Sea Cucumber for too long (3rd pic)..... its feeding parts start to comes out seaching for sand..... it was Not Harm in anyway.

See the pair of eyes above the sand There's a Flathead under the sand.

Hermit Crab..... carrying stinging anemones for protection.
Not sure if u all could see it...... there is a well camouflage Spider Crab
in the pics.
There's nothing special about Sea Urchins..... but if u look carefully..... u will see dozens of small fish using its thorns for protection.

Forskal's Pleurobranchus... the BIGGEST Nudibranch I've ever seen. About 10-12cm long.

Some sort of Tube Anemone
2 difference Spider Crab. The 1st one uses bits & pieces of rock and sand for camouflage while the other uses a living stinging coral.

Lembeh Straits..... I would said it offers better dive sites than Manado. But must 1st admit that I'm more into Muck diving.
Dive Site - Nudi Retreat (Lembeh Straits)
An Angler Flatfish.
A Blue-Spotted Stingray...... not the more common Blue-Spotted Ribbontail Ray found around Tioman or Aur
Winged Pipefish
A small Reef Cuttlefish. All 3 photos are the same cuttlefish.... it changes its colour and skin patten as it moves around.
Another Winded Pipefish..... hope u can see it. Sorry, the lighting here is hard to control and my skill in photography is limited.

A small Zebra Lionfish..... only about 6-7cm long
Helmut Guranard.... this strange fish 'walks' on the sand using it's finger like pelvic fins.
Dragon Sea Moth. Like the Helmut Guranard, it also 'walks' on the sand using it's finger like pelvic fins
A Blenny..... unknown type, since can't see more than it's head. Was using the old bottle as a home.

My friends..... I give you, the very rare Paddle-Flap Scorpionfish - Rhinopias Eschmeyeri. I have heard about this fish since i started diving...... but this is the 1st time I saw & photo one. Only a few place here could you get too see one. Lembeh Straits beening 1 of those places.

A school of Pilot Whales. sorry.... no better photos. We tried to get close by switching off the dive boat motor and then snorkel towards them with just fins..... but the noise we made scare them away. They just dive deep everytime we get near......
