Hi guys , need help to set my barometer , what the sea level pressure(hPa) in singapore ? And what the magnetic declination in singapore ?
What the altitude and how should i set it ? As in do i need to be in ground floor instead of my home which is 9th floor , and what the altitude at my ground floor
Thx

i answer the sea level pressure (hPa) in singapore first. that one can find on net
1008 hPA

Compute your Magnetic Declination of Singapore here:
http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomagmodels/Declination.jsp
enter latitude 1 21 00 N (close estimate) longitude 103 57 00 E (close estimate) for degrees minutes and seconds (estimated to be around Simei - Tampines)
you shall get : Declination = 0° 11' E changing by 0° 1' W/year
or enter latitude 1 19 00 N (close estimate) longitude 103 50 00 E (close estimate) for degrees minutes and seconds (estimated to be Tanglin - Orchard - Newton)
you shall get: Declination = 0° 10' E changing by 0° 1' W/year
or enter latitude 01 20 00 N (close estimate) longitude 103 43 00 E (close estimate) for degrees minutes and seconds (estimated to be around Jurong West)
you shall get: Declination = 0° 9' E changing by 0° 1' W/year
Conclusion: Magnetic declination of Singapore = 0° 9' E ~ 0° 11' E
And I believe at ground floor you can be as close to sea level as possible.
Use the Flood Map Website to play around with our estimated above-sea-levels (our local flat terrain ranges from 0m above sea level to average 15m above sea level):
http://flood.firetree.net/?ll=1.3615,103.8029&z=6&m=1
And lastly, I do not know how to calibrate a barometer.
