Its crap actually.
I noticed two things
The ST reported on the other day that, whilst the students were merely posting up their opinions of what they saw, the teachers were allowed to file defamation suits against these students. From what I know, defamation suits only cover people who twisted facts, not because they publish their opinions.
Not only this, isnt this akin to using a butcher knife to slaying a chicken?
On top of that, I question the teachers' wanting to search for the latest rumours on them and punishing those responsible for it. This is like some sort of losers who cannot present an ethical image to their students, and being egoistic by trying to quash rumours thru heavy punishment.

I think XiaXue mentioned sth abt this in her latest entry...agreed with some of the stuff she pointed out, like if students are not allowed to have a safe outlet to pour out their feelings, then they will bottle up their feelings until one day you will hear abt some kinda unfortunate events such as gunning incident in school by students, etc...

Defamation this , copyright that..how many of them will actually stand up in a court of law in any other nation?
Sheesh.Get a fecking life la..you morons are no better than a herd of rhinoceroses..lacking the brains and only knowing how to sue.Makes me wonder why students these days hate the fecking system.

hmmm.... i still think students should show public respect to their teachers. it is really tough enough as it is to teach a bunch of 40 monkeys. Bitching about them on blogs isnt helping with teacher's attitudes towards students right? why promote the vicious cycle?
personally, i feel that students need to reflect on their own behavior. you wanna Bitch about teachers, do so in front of friends, or parents. but not to the whole world. just imagine yourself in a teacher's shoes will you? i have seen the students nowadays. simply atrocious. you all should try relief teaching sometime... then you'll know.
it is inappropriate for the teachers to go read the blogs and punish students for it. but if the students didnt write that in the first place, would all this sht have happened??

Well, I guess it is all abt the freedom of speech. We are entitled to voice out our opinions, and there will definitely be ppl who dun like wat we say all the time. So I dun see why some teachers are so sensitive abt this issue. I mean, why dun they look into the comments and try to reflect about what they have done to have provoked such reaction from the student? Instead of just abusing their power and punish the student directly? prob is.. sometimes wad the teacher did is bad in the eyes of students. it's just because they dun like wad the teacher did. but they never think about why teachers do it. sometimes its a matter of school policy. sometimes its got to do with discipline. All in all, i believe that ALL parents have to be involved in helping out the teachers as well. They play a bigger role in spending time with their own kids and disciplining them.
If the parents just leave everything to the teachers, then teaching will be a very stressful vocation. There'll also be a downside on the parents' side as well. Their kids will not mature. Their generation is going to suffer. Their generation will lose out.
So, PARENTS.. listen up! Do u want ur kids to further expand ur legacy? Or do u want to leave a generation of legacies? Choice is yours.
And if your future generation doesn't become successful, don't blame many of the teachers who worked hard. Blame urselves for not bringing them up well.
Sometimes, I really wonder what parents define success as.
Let me explain to u infants then.

what they do in their free time as long as its legal shouldn't be controled by the skool unless they can say that the comments made are outright lies why should they be able to clamp down on such? some times i jsut hope that we live in a ligatious society so that some pple can get their pants sued off -

haiz.... it always pays to be polite to teachers. it's not easy for the teacher lah. you've got to be one to know how it feels. sure, blogging will help u vent your frustrations. but some people are just lacking in the considerate department.
i just pity the teachers nowadays. i hope i wun have to pity myself if i can help it. -
