Put simply:
It is not a good thing to put friendship in the line. But that doesn't mean one has to let go jus bcos he or she is my friend. It's a 50-50 chance at start. How either one of them put themselves in a favourable position...solely depends on themselves. What it has got to do with friendship? Rice is rice, sand is sand.... they dun mix. -

Everyone reacts and deals matter of the heart differently. There seemed to be none of the right or wrong. Sometimes, it's a matter of accepting that person of whom they are, why they does that.

I think that ultimately proves the point of Mr Alexkusu... For me a friendship has 5 different categories, A through E
A - Hi Bye Relationship
B - Casual Relationship (Sit and Talk anytime)
C - Frequent Relationship (Closer than B, usually meets up when in need and sticks to one for as long as it is necessary to get the job done, then after that, no more)
D - Intimate Relationship (Best Friends - listens to your problems, shares with you your sadness and your happiness, one friend you can always rely on)
E - Deep Understanding Relationship / Soul Relationship (This is the most intimate of all the relationships and it is actually marriage)
If given a choice, that my friend is category C and below, I won't actually care about stepping down, if he is category D, I would think twice of the consequences. Stepping down may not be the ulterior motive, but it is a point to consider. If the girl is really yours and meant to be soulmate, then it is up to you to explain things and sit down, the three of us, to discuss.
