for me, I'll only use it when its real quick and super urgent. You never know when a handicapped person may appear..Originally posted by rainee:but if nobody uses, I dun see any wrong with using it? Esp when there is no handicapped ppl around at that moment?
thats the problem.Originally posted by rainee:but if nobody uses, I dun see any wrong with using it? Esp when there is no handicapped ppl around at that moment?
I mean, if they are not around ma...if a handicap turns up, then everyone shud give way to him...Originally posted by dragg:thats the problem.
if everybody thinks that way a lot of people will be using it.
if and when a handicap turns up there will be arguments.
anyway the handicaps are concerned about people dirtying the toilets too.
you know how 'normal' people behaves.
but it is like having it empty all day...and then queue is so long for the other cubicles...like wasting resources leh...Originally posted by sbst275:It is only meant for the handicapped to use
Put it into their shoes
I dun really agree with what she said. And the way she expressed her view, will naturally pissed off some people. Cos she is like blaming the handicapped people for their disability when she said it is their fault that they cudnt close the door properly when they are using the toilet, etc...i agree with some of her points, but there are some of her words that irritate me tooOriginally posted by dragg:seems like a lot of people agree.
Xiaxue lost 2 of her sponsors because of this. many wrote to her sponsors to pressure them to withdraw the support.
use toilet a while onli wat. on mrt and buses got seats reserve for old or pregnant ppl but if there are enough seats other ppl can sit also wat.Originally posted by dragg:i make it a point not to use anything reserved for the handicap.
lets say a handicap comes while you are shItting inside how?
isnt it the same as someone parking his car at a lot reserved for the handicapped?
arguments will arise once everyone starts using it.
buses and mrt, you can see if the elderly or pregnant people have boarded and immediately give up the seatOriginally posted by crazy monkey:use toilet a while onli wat. on mrt and buses got seats reserve for old or pregnant ppl but if there are enough seats other ppl can sit also wat.
but it is also inconvenient for the so-called "normal" people to be standing and queuing up for a long time leh...esp if you have an urgent "business", then like got open space dun wan to use...Originally posted by mystiv:buses and mrt, you can see if the elderly or pregnant people have boarded and immediately give up the seat
how are you gonna do that for toilets? leave the door wide open?
though both situations may seem similar at 1st glance, there are many factors as to why usage of handicapped toilet is not encouraged
rather than the 'also-nobody-to-use-what' problem, its more of the inconvenience caused. though chances are slim, it can still occur and cause problems for the handicapped
