Anywayz, the best method is to rest it as all injuries of the body responds by inflammation... the purpose of inflammation is to clear up all the injured tissues and make way for healing... as this process if going on, you will feel the pain no doubt.
I would personally give you some panadols to relieve your pain (250mg three times daily) and don't move it about too excessively. Apply cold pack if you noticed there is swelling and elevate your leg to reduce the swelling as well...
This is known as the RICE regiment...
R- Rest
I- Icepack
C- Compression (only for sprained ligaments)
E- Elevate

If got pus means you are a dirty fellow... hahaha... kidding... that means you do not clean your wounds... pus means if it is green or yellowish, it means that there is bacterial infection lor... so the best way is to apply an antiseptic cream over the wound...Originally posted by hisoka:something heavy and "edgy" fell onto my feet got wounds too

hmm ok thanks alot, i better start to get more control of my blood sugar level and excerising more, thanks againOriginally posted by renorenal:Erection? Sorry to be direct...
Yes... but that is in a long term... because our genital regions are supplied by autonomic nerve supply... Diabetes will affect three microvascular areas, the nerve, the eyes and the kidneys... these are the three main components where it is affected... if you maintain good control, you will not have any problems...
Glucose in diabetes as explained earlier is not used up, hence fat is broken down and these excess fat are converted and broke down so that the body can use it... these fats and glucose gets accumulated in small blood vessels which leads to narrowing and constriction (explaining why in diabetic patients, there will be high risk of heart attack, foot ulcers, or stroke)...
When occlusion occurs, the nerve that is supplied by the blood vessel will die out... hence you will have E.D. among other things... diabetic foot ulcers are also caused by pure destruction of blood vessels and aggravated by peripheral loss of sensation (nerve destruction)...
i jsut put dettol(i htink that caused the pus) i understand the pus is due to the immune system acting against infection or other antigens but didn't knwo i add dettol will cause pus formationOriginally posted by renorenal:If got pus means you are a dirty fellow... hahaha... kidding... that means you do not clean your wounds... pus means if it is green or yellowish, it means that there is bacterial infection lor... so the best way is to apply an antiseptic cream over the wound...
All the best!Originally posted by martin_lim85:hmm ok thanks alot, i better start to get more control of my blood sugar level and excerising more, thanks again
There are two types of bacteria, Gram negative and Gram positive (basically Gram Stain Test is a kind of dye test where upon staining the index bacteria, will give rise to pink (-ve) or purple (+ve) color)..Originally posted by hisoka:i jsut put dettol(i htink that caused the pus) i understand the pus is due to the immune system acting against infection or other antigens but didn't knwo i add dettol will cause pus formation

Remember to go for your 3-monthly follow-ups with the Diabetic Clinic (in Malaysia it is 3 monthly, I am not sure of Singapore)...
Here are some things to think about where diabetes can affect...
K-Kidney
N-Nerve
I-Infection (prone to fungal infection, genital areas)
V-Vessels (Blood)
E-Eye
S-Skin (Ulcers, Infection)
If you have any queries, can alwiz come and ask...
sianz still got i think got at least half hour leOriginally posted by renorenal:There are two types of bacteria, Gram negative and Gram positive (basically Gram Stain Test is a kind of dye test where upon staining the index bacteria, will give rise to pink (-ve) or purple (+ve) color)..
Skin infection or injury are usually Gram +ve (I believe the pus is probably yellowish-golden coz that's what the skin bacteria produces - known as Staphylococcus Aureus)...
Dettol eliminates a portion of G+ve but not G-ve...
The best method is still to wash your wound clean, apply an antiseptic cream rather than Dettol, and leave it open (don't bandage it as you will compress the area leading to reduced blood supply hence delaying healing)...
How long from injury did you see the pus discharge?
wait she ask you how to cure her pet catOriginally posted by renorenal:After Starblue comes in and see what happened to her forum, she will scream man... hahaha...
