That's what one my friend says very often. for example: "Well, we all are disabled in our own ways, you like to buy new tooth brushes and I have no money "Originally posted by browniebaobao:
I always think that everyone is handicap in his own way.
Hmmm.. depends i guess..Originally posted by thinkdifferent:I agree with what said wealthball and Gackt247. Either smile or handle them as they were not different from others, if needed then help.
A new question is, what would you do if you were a disabled person?
Try to lead as normal life as possible or hide at home or something else?
Ever heard of Steven Hawking?Originally posted by Gackt247:Hmmm.. depends i guess..
If I'm born disabled.. my disability would juz be my way of life. Nothing peculiar.
If sth tragic happened tt resulted in the disability. I'll probably be stuck in depression, self-pity, anguish n torment. God knows when I'll get a hold of myself. Would I lead a normal life as much as i could? Who I do sth great n worthwhile like Dr William Tan despite my disability? Who knows.
For sth as serious as this, nobody will actually know wat one will do until one suffers the predicament.
I think it can happen to everyone that one suffers a tragedy which changes his life, everyone can have an accident and land on a wheelchair or some other way disabled.Originally posted by Gackt247:Hmmm.. depends i guess..

I well look to see whether that person needs any help...like for example, maybe he will appreciate if someone help him up the bus. If I see he is in no difficulties (hell some disable people are more able than abled people ) I will treat him like any other people. I have no problem being casual with them.Originally posted by starblue:see a person with a handicap, or badly deformed body on the streets? do you:
1) take a second or third look (people who does that often seem to pity the person, and it doesnt feel right to me)
2) look nonchalent (you dun wan the person to feel too self conscious of himself, but other people will see you as unfeeling and cold)
cos u see, i saw this guy, nearly half bent over at his back, trying hard to get down and take a seat at the busstop. then i observed people at the bus stop. some aunties were intently looking at home, pity filling their eyes. and i dun think the man feels good being stared at like that.
i, on the other hand, tried to concentrate on the traffic, didnt want to pressure the guy with my stare lah. but i reckon i look cold.
liddat how?? what will you do? have you see such situations, and how do you feel about them?
Exactly the correct attitudeOriginally posted by I_am_PeTe_Parker:I well look to see whether that person needs any help...like for example, maybe he will appreciate if someone help him up the bus. Not just attitude. It's basic courtesy.Originally posted by thinkdifferent:Exactly the correct attitude
