usually the melting point of metals are used as indicators of their 'hardness'. Aluminium mp is bout 669°C, gold is around 1064°C, iron/steel is about 1535°C and titanium is 1660°C.
The highest one would be Hafnium Carbide at 3900°C but its impractical to work with it so its not widely used.

diamon mp is 4827 celcius. It is thermodynamically unstable. In fact, it is transforming VERY VERY slowly into its relative graphite.
