  my highest ever score is 200..

  the beginning, always straight because that part of the lane is oiled.. the ball does not roll as much as it slides across that part of the lane
  
  after that, the lane isn't oiled anymore, the rotation of the ball comes into play and starts to veer off...

  something like that
  
  use the physics of spheres to your advantage
  
  you can hurl the ball straight down the lane towards slightly left or right of the head pin..
  
  or you can spin the ball like a top towards slightly left or right of the head pin...
  
  or you can make the ball hook... that is... the ball will go straight until near the end of the lane, then it turns towards the "pocket" between 1 and 3 pin (for right handed people)
