Precisely.. wouldnt u rather go in foolheartedly or take some neccessary safeguards?Originally posted by The Emperor:Trust is risking your chances in the expense of one's apparent honesty.
Quite touching....I have been taught to trust, but verify....not much of a trust, is it?Originally posted by starblue:when i trust a person, even if someone tells me he/she has betrayed me, i will not believe it. only if he/she tells me him/herself or i see it with my own eyes will i believe it.
that is my idea of trust.
i agree with the first paragraph. but to me, once trust has been betrayed, it will never be the same again. maybe it's just me...Originally posted by NeverSayGoodBye:.... Trust is when you can take down of all your defenses and to be vulnerabled to this person, without worrying that he/she will take advantage of you. Trust is cultivated and nurtured in the test of times, not earned in a matter of days.
..... When trust is gone , it's gone forever. Unlike a broken heart, it still can be heal and mended.
..... I believe it's your own principles of not trusting someone who had betrayed you. If the friendship is a long term one e.g childhood friends, once you got played out by them the hurt and sense of betrayal will be felt much greater. Unlike those who you had just known only for a while, can just forget and let go easily. But the most important thing is to know how to trust yourself first.Originally posted by starblue:i agree with the first paragraph. but to me, once trust has been betrayed, it will never be the same again. maybe it's just me...
erm... to me, if the guy's a stranger, then i dun trust him. there is not betrayal of trust to talk about.Originally posted by NeverSayGoodBye:..... ..... ic ic...let said.. this person who you care alot and trust alot had betrayed you, will you hold a grudge against him/her or forgive the person and salvaged the friendship? Liked you mentioned earlier, it won't be the same again... So this trusted friend is well as good as a stranger to you.Originally posted by starblue:erm... to me, if the guy's a stranger, then i dun trust him. there is not betrayal of trust to talk about.
so when i say betrayal of trust means that person must have already gained my trust. means that person is someone i care about (to varying degree lah).
who cares about strangers anyway... they can call me a btch for all i care.
we wun go separate ways, but stick as friends. but that kinda absolute trust i have in her will never be the same. it may come close (time mends certain hurts), but never the same.Originally posted by NeverSayGoodBye:..... ic ic...let said.. this person who you care alot and trust alot had betrayed you, will you hold a grudge against him/her or forgive the person and salvaged the friendship?
