  The ones i got are rated as one of the brighter ones with rather fresh batts.

  mine is a very old catseye thingy.. for headlights..
  
  maybe should get a LED type... less batt used and brighter.. since i ride only in the park and it's kinda dark in some places...
  
  ran over a little boy the other time.. he rushed out from a hidden staircase into my path
  
  the back, LED blinking red lights.. so should be bright enough

  and yeah, i ran over a little boy while cycling.. almost died too coz the front brakes bite a heck of a lot more than the rear brakes... the bike almost made a somersault
  
  p.s. the boy was unharmed.. i had a gravel rash
