My only regret is that I couldn't be at their side because for some selfish reason, my folks didn't let me fly over there..citing A levels and O levels then..

I'm not allowed to stay for long for my maternal grandfather's funeral; they say it's bad luck for the exams. In fact, I was not informed by any of them; I only knew of it through my uncle, my father's brother. Ironic?
Anyway, I didn't care and went ahead with it. They can do nothing but just let me have my way. Not nice to fight in a funeral... -

most heartbreaking moment for me was a week after my maternal granny passed on, I actually dreamt of her, and it was very vivid. I remember I was in their house, and I just came into the living room, from the airport, and she and my late Ah Kong were sitting together in their favorite sofa, watching television. I tried to speak but I couldn't , she just looked at me and gave me such a peaceful smile and she nodded her head as if to say "It's Okay".
the next minute I woke up, and I felt so at peace, and somehow I knew that both of them are happy together somewhere.. -

for me it wasn't superstition, cuz I'm Christian and my mother's side is freethinker-Taoist. Perhaps they wanted me to be spared the anguish then..so I wouldn't have to fly over in a haze of emotions all by myself? I don't know..
