  I had to spend a lot of time convincing my other group members that sacrificing unnecessary breadth for additional depth is essential to making an essay more potent.
  
  They raised quite a bit of a ruckus when I proposed shifting one of the two case studies that we did to the appendix for the sake of keeping to the word limit as much as possible. The lecturer's pretty strict about the word limit. They insisted that I cut down on other parts of the HR essay, while I contended that that would make the essay lose too much depth.
  
  Oh well. I've given them till Sunday noon to raise any more objections. After that, I'll shut out any more objections - I don't have a lot of time to do so much editing.
  
  After that, if they want any more major edits, they can jolly well do those edits themselves - I've got a lot more things to do.

  Same here. Differences in opinion are to be expected in any group work, but it gets really sucky when each thinks that his opinion is the best.
  
  As for the said term paper, I can understand their concerns about how it won't be the best of all papers. But as I've explained to them, you can't always strive for perfection; you can only approximate it.
  
  It gets extremely frustrating when they keep nit-picking the essay's flaws which can't be corrected without a near-total makeover. And with the deadline on this coming Wednesday (on top of another major project deadline and exams coming soon), we can't afford the time.
  
  I've already done my utmost best to edit the essay. As it is it was already pretty hard on me to chop the essay down from a 4600-word epic to a 3100 word summary, proofreading for grammatical errors, getting the referencing right... you get the point.
  
  If they want to do any extreme makeovers, then they had better do it themselves.
  
  I know I'm sounding pretty harsh... but sometimes, you just gotta put away the carrot and use the stick.

  i know how u feel..with such team members who keep nit-picking the small stuff...i tell them to shut up or get out...usually most stay...but i prefer to work alone
