Topics for Oral Presentation

Oral Presentation Project coming up again for my students...need a topic to give them so that they can prepare...
Thing is...I am at loss of what topic to give them...I need a topic which will allow them to use visual aids inside their presentations as well (things such as pie chart, bar graphs, etc)...so topics such as talking about themselves or their fave tv programs doesnt work
If anyone has taken a business communication class before and have some ideas about wat topic I can give them, pls do let me know...thanks

how abt tyin that up with one of their modules?
what we did was we had 1 project for 2 modules... think it was our communication module + statistics module
it was on report writing..
u could tie it up with any module that requires presentation such as marketing and such -

Must die die be related to business?? Can do something like setting up comittee looking into areas to provide suggestion for better improvement in the school(like poly)? Don't overlook this as a easy project cos and we are require to brainstorm for ideas and come up with a paretto chart or a 'fish bone' diagram. Then take pictures, do survey and formal report and lastly provide a presentation. hmm...i m thinking abt asking them to do a survey...but dunno on wat yet...
i m thinking of asking them to do a presentation abt the career that they want to take up next time...but dunno how to incorporate the survey into that topic...lolz -

wat do u wanna see inside the presentation besides visual aids? -
hmm wan to see whether they are able to present well...basically need them to give me sufficient information abt the topic they are presenting...then I will evaluate them based on that...Originally posted by shinta:hmm

besides visual aids, cant really think of anything else that needs to be inside the presentation, except of cos the correct information and all that... -
ask them to do a business analysis of the impacts of the recent government policy or happenings lor. like maybe the 2 idiots at loggerheads or something

Health topics. My group did one on dengue fever and abused numbers.
We collected data from various agencies, including WHO. Data collected is collated into a pie chart and bar graph. Used it to present and say that the number of dengue fever cases are dropping. (When in actual fact it's not, that's why I said I abused numbers)
Talk a lot of rubbish at the presentation also... like prevention, symptoms, how has the situation improved, etc etc. -

tink shinta just gave me quite a good idea over MSN...ask my students to think of new products in the market, then ask them to go and do a survey to see the market acceptance towards this new product...then can ask them to present the result -

The idea is similar. The only difference lies in that it is a competition, one of them have to leave. -

i tink my students had more fun in presentations than anything else
tink the guys can get them to do on gadgets, the girls can do on stuff like cosmestics, foodstuff, etc -

Intro new product concept or products onto the market.
Ask them present diagrams or drawings of the product, product design cycle, curves, market trends for the product, etc etc. -

Will it be popular
What group of people do you think this product will attract (specific groups, since they seem to target a certain product like gadgets and cosmetics). For example, guys doing gadgets survey, do they expect geeky people to accept the product or the fashion-conscious guys)
Potential areas for improvements (if gadget is ugly, can improve image bla bla bla, gadget don't have this function, maybe can add in)
Costs (if they would like to buy, what would be a reasonable cost)
