That's why I say to not buy Toshiba laptops. I would recommend Lenovo instead.
All my friends who use IBM-Lenovo sing the praises of their laptops. Even though their laptops are ugly, they are highly dependable workhorses. -

Mine is a Compaq. Still going strong! Hardly have any problems with it..compared to other friends and siblings laptops (acer, toshiba, etc).
Not sure issit cos the way its built or the wonderful care given by the owner. Most likely the latter

now, wondering if i should resurrect it because only the HDD died -

talking about losing files, i need to go back up the stuff in the office.. the PC sounds bad.. HDD keeps spinning for no reason..
that's what happened to my VAIO before the HDD gave up the ghost

Oh well... at least it's still under warranty. Once I graduate I may consider getting a new laptop - or maybe a powerful new desktop. -
