And what do you want to do after your retirement? Go on a holiday or take up some new hobby to occupy your time?
For me I might go and try to use up my savings on my own business...maybe just open up a small cafe for fun, dun need to earn much but just for the heck of it

for me it depends...see how when i oledi start my family...hard to handle a full time job once oledi have kids, and i dun trust maids wif my kids anyway after hearing all the horror stories
so maybe will retire at around 30 plus, but dat time i must have had enuff savings to start my own business, where i can work at any time i like -

I think i prefer to work all the way lor.. as n when wan a break den go holiday. Retire duno wat to do also sianz.. later become senile earlier..

I plan to marry before I hit 30.
I plan to retire as soon as my kids become self-sufficient. -
i wanna retire only when i get too feeble to work. the idle mind is the devil's workshop, and god forbid i let the devil take over my faculties before my time is up.
but when i have enough savings, i might wanna take a break from work first, like a pre-retirement perk. i wanna just stay home with my cats and knit for my grandchildren and my brothers' grandchildren.
i wanna visit the places i've been to when i was young. like my primary school, sec school, jc etc. the parks i used to walk in with my friend. the overhead bridge where i used to gaze at the stars and chat with my god-brother. the shopping places that are a must-go with my friends. i wanna visit all these places one by one again, and if possible, chio those old, old friends along.
i might take to gardening. plant some african violets. some lilies, and shui mei. and orchids. maybe cultivate some chilli, guava, pomegranates and spinach.
i wanna re-read my most favorite books i've read up till then. dig out my old diaries, and essays, and project assignments.
i wanna learn a new language. maybe french. i wanna learn braille and sign language.
i wanna volunteer at an institution. like Singapore Cat's Welfare Association. or some old folk's home.
aiya, so many things to do.... maybe i should start some now, then can finish everything by the time i get incapitated -
I also think after I retire, I wan to be able to read as much as I can...so wud be good if I can have access to all the latest book to read

i will receive however much allowance they want to give to me and my hubby, and be grateful for those. So of cos i must have my old days savings so dat i wud have enuff to support myself
