there is this girl in my church. we (that is to say, her, me, my brothers) practically grew up together (although we seldom interact unless we were participating in the annual chinese play). my brother has always kinda had a crush on her, she being the only chinese girl around his age.
so one day, i asked her for her phone number very casually after church. my brother was beside me, and he was like, "hey, i also want... i can it from my sis hor?"
and she merely smiled and continued keying in her number.
and so, i gave my bro her number. after a week, he smsed her, "hey! (his name) here. we havent talked to each other very a long time le hor? haha..."
she didnt reply for a week or so.
my bro sent another sms, "is this (her name)?" just in case he smsed the wrong number.
guess what happened? she showed the messages to her parents, who brought this issue up to the church sisters and sunday school superintendent, who had a talk with my bro. he was like saying, "do you think this sort of thing is what a child of God should do? are you going to marry her or something?"
and now, the parents are very upset about my bro and me for giving him the number.
WTF??

pierree^: firstly i would say its none of your business. It was just an sms and my way of making friends with people. And just because of a "Hi SMS" that makes you tink even as far as marriage is pretty absurb. Excuse me but you guys live in a cave or something? I think the whold thing is pretty silly and you guys are making only a fool out of yourself
and then i would send the girl an sms or telling her face to face, telling her she is a loser. She could just say no, or not interested.
At most if those people are still not happy, i just change my church lo.

But on my part, I think there's quite a huge leap in logic between an innocuous 'Hi' through SMS and wanting to marry the girl. -
